Two new arrivals!

Hey everyone!

Today’s post will revolve around two products that arrived very newly. I’m talking about the Jeju Lava Seawater Deep Essence from Innisfree and the 100% Organic Cold-pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil from The Ordinary! I decided to include both of these products in one post as opposed to giving them seperate “first impressions” like I usually do. I did this because I’ve already experienced the deep essence before, so I couldn’t really write a first impression post about that one. And Mocka has already reviewed the rose hip seed oil here, as she purchased it before me. But I might do a review on it myself later on, cause you can never get too many opinions on a thing, right? Or can you?  :O

Anyway, let’s see those beauties   ↓

Ahh…

So as you may have guessed, I purchased the rose hip seed oil from The Ordinary after Mocka got on the hype train and ran me over with it! She raved HARD about this product for quite some time and wrote a glowing review on it a while back. Apparently this baby comes from The Skin Clearing Heavens! Needless to say; I was wrapped in a dated newspaper and sold like cold salmon on the street. And as far as I can tell, I’m really loving this sh*t. I think it’s keeping my skin in check, but it’ll take some time before I can confirm this for sure. But what I can say is that it adds some moisture and nourishment to whatever cream you mix it with (if that’s how you choose to apply it, of course). It takes a mediochre moisturizer to the next level, if not even further! It adds a lot of thickness without clogging pores or causing me to break out. Loooove.

When it comes to the Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Deep Essence, this one’s no stranger to me! That’s right, unlike the rose hip seed oil I’ve had this deep essence in my routine at a much earlier stage of my K-beauty obsession. I was slapping that sh*t on my face every day and every night until I ran out. And I don’t know why, but I just didn’t repurchase it after it was gone. And now that I finally have, it’s safe to say that I have a new-found love for it. It smells soo good, and I feel that it helps hydrate my face just a little bit more than usual. Result!

20170703_165134

Both of these products have been successfully introduced into my current skin care regimen. Although one can never be too sure about any product, I have high hopes for the future. Yep, I can see myself using them both in my everyday routine, for quite some time. At least until something potencially better comes along!

Feel free to give me a shout if you’d like to hear more about these two!
Until then,
Vicky  ❤

So what do I think of the Leejiham Tea Tree 90 Essence?

I’ve now been using this essence for a few weeks and I must say that I’ve enjoyed every minute of it! This product has been a great little addition to my skin care regimen, and has earned a solid spot in both my day time and evening skin care routine. Although I always apply a rather generous ammount, my skin just drinks it all up immediatly! It feels nice and soothing on the skin and it leaves a natural finish. After absorbation you can’t even tell by looking at your face, that you’ve applied a product. Score!

Also, I love that the Leejiham Tea Tree 90 Essence contains 90% tea tree extract, leaving very little room for all sorts of nasties! Tea Tree is well known for it’s skin clearing – and anti-trouble properties which makes this an excellent essence for me! And for those of you who like the sound of tree tree skin care products, but are concerned about strong and overwhelming scents, fear not! As I mentioned, this essence does contain a load of tea tree (a whopping 90%), but still the scent is extremly mild. What’s not to love?!

So what are the cons? (Not many, I tell you!)
The only con I can think of when it comes to the Leejiham Tea Tree 90 Essence is the price. It’s not ridiculously expensive but it does cost more than what I usually spend on a skin care product nowadays. Paying 28.48 USD for a Korean skin care product sort of defeats the purpose, and makes me think that I might as well have purchased a Western product. BUT seeing as this product is really great (and those aren’t easy to come by, at elast not for me), I’ll let the whole price issue slide. That, and the fact that I can tell that this product will last me a long time, which makes it worth it in a way.

And remember; I always recommend taking a closer look at any new product before purchasing it, just in case you’re allergic or sensitve to one or more of the ingredients. Personally I always check before buying a new product, because I know my skin is of the extra vulnerable type as I do have dehydrated combination skin with acne prone areas. You can find the ingredients, what they are and what they do at CosDna.

So that’s it for my review on the Tea Tree 90 Essence from Leejiham! Have you tried it? If so, how did you like it?

The packages that arrived yesterday…

Hey guys!

As promised, I’m back today with an unboxing post. If you don’t already know, four packages arrived from Korea yesterday and I’m so excited because I’ve been waiting for these products since way before Easter! I’m still missing one package, but I have a good feeling that it will turn up tomorrow. As always I will update you all when that happens. Until then; let’s get to it!

So here are the packages! Can you tell what’s inside?   ↓

To me, all of these products are new and I can’t wait to put them to the test! I’ve heard great things about them all. I just hope they live up to my expectations. As usual, first impressions and reviews will be posted, but keep in mind that I do have several products to try at the moment and I can’t try them all at once. But fear not. I do have a system and a plan!

So what do you think? Have you tried any of these?   🙂

The products that didn’t make it

Hey guys! 🙂

In this post I’ll take you through a load of skin care products that I’ve put to the test, but for various reasons lost their place in my skin care regimen. I’m NOT saying that any of these products are bad. They just didn’t work out for me, and I’m going to tell you why 🙂

Included in this post (in no perticular order)   ↓

COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner
Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Deep Essence
Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence
Innisfree Green Tea Fresh Essence
The Saem Urban Eco Harakeke Seed Firming Eye Cream
Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Foam
The Saem Iceland Water Volume Cream
Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Cream
Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask
Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Foam
Mizon Herbal Orange Blossom Ampoule
Tonymoly Tomatox Magic Massage Pack
Mizon Original Skin Energy Placenta 45
Skinfood Premium Tomato Whitening Moisture Synergy Cream

So let’s get to it!   ↓

COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner
This toner survived in my skin care routine for about two or three weeks, before I went back to my Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner. I didn’t experience any irritation and it didn’t break me out. It just didn’t do… anything? Well, maybe it DID something, but whatever that might have been, I didn’t see or feel any changes. Oh, and I also hated having to spray my toner onto my face or a cotton pad. But I know this is a Holy Grail product for many. It just wasn’t for me.    ↓

Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Deep Essence

I sort of bought this product on a whim. I had never heard of a deep essence before so naturally I wanted to try it. Honestly, I have some mixed feelings about this product. I really liked the feel of it on the skin and the scent. It didn’t break me out or irritate my skin in any other way. I actually used the whole bottle, I just didn’t repurchase it after it was all gone. But now I’m sat here thinking that I might buy it next time I’m hauling, because it IS a nice extra layer of moisture to the skin.    ↓

kbdeep

Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence

When it comes to this essence, I’ve already written a first impression on it, and I said I’d write a full review on it after testing it further, but I don’t really see the point in doing that yet. If you read my first impression, well, my thoughts haven’t changed at all and I can tell they won’t. The container is gorgeous but nothing about the essence itself impressed me. I’ve heard that many people love this product and it probably works great for them, but for me this will be saved as a last resort.    ↓

kbhoney

Innisfree Green Tea Fresh Essence

What I said about the Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Deep Essence sort of goes for the Innisfree Green Tea Fresh Essence aswell. This was my first ever essence and I really enjoyed it. I loved the scent, which is similar to the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum, and I liked the feel of it. I guess I just didn’t repurchase it because it was my first essence, I was new to the K-beauty world and I thought I could find something even better. After all, there really is a whole universe of products out there!    ↓

kbfresh

The Saem Urban Eco Harakeke Firming Seed Eye Cream
If you read my review on this product you already know why it had to go. But for you guys who didn’t read it; basically this eye cream was way too thick and heavy for my eye area and within a week of using it I had full on Milia. This is another product I bought when I was completely new in the AB game and it was my very first eye cream from the K-beauty world. Sadly it didn’t work out and I replaced it with the Mizon Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream.    ↓
kbharaaaInnisfree Green Tea Cleansing Foam
This was also one of my very first products from the K-beauty world. I remember getting it after a friend recommended green tea as a soothing ingredient for my sensitive, acne prone combination skin. Plus it was very afforable. I used this cleansing foam for a couple of months before I replaced it. The reason being my face felt dry and tight after using it, which is a shame bacause I loved the scent and it did a good job of actually cleansing my face. It was just too drying on my skin.    ↓
kbgreen

The Saem Iceland Water Volume Cream
I really wanted to love this moisturizer, because the container is gorgeous and the cream itself smells rather good. But it just didn’t “sit right” on my skin. It’s hard to explain exactly what I’m on about, but sometimes when I apply a new product, it just doesn’t feel right? It’s like I can feel it right from the start if a product will break me out if I continue using it. I’ve had this feeling quite a few times and when that happens I usually don’t proceed using said product. Maybe that’s a bad habit of mine? Because I know you’re meant to give a new product a couple of weeks to give it a fair chance, but I just can’t stand that “weird” feeling some products give me. So this cream had to go.    ↓
kbice

Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Cream
This cream was my very first moisturizer from the K-beauty world. I loved the scent, but unfortunately this little bastard broke me out. Oh, and that weird feeling I was on about earlier? Yep. That happened with this one aswell.    ↓
kbinnisElizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask
When I purchased this mask I really liked the consept of it. I mean, a mask that bubbles up to a thick foam after applying it to your face!? HELL YES. But I did end up having mixed feelings about this product after using it four or five times. The mask gave my face a deeper cleanse and it removed dead skin and left my face baby soft! However, it dried me out and I didn’t like the scent at all. Now, I’m a person who’s very sensitive to scents, so I gave it to Mocka to try and she loved it! But as far as I’m concerned I won’t repurchase.    ↓
kbmilky

Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Foam
This is the cleanser I replaced the Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Foam with. I was still quite new in the AB game when this happened, and because I liked the scent and consistency of the Green Tea Cleansing Foam, not to mention the affordability, I wanted to stick with Innisfree. But this time I went for the Olive Real Cleansing Foam, as this was meant to be less stripping and more hydrating because of the olive oil. But that wasn’t the case, at least not for me. This cleanser dried me out just as much as the Green Tea Cleansing Foam AND stung and irritated the hell out of my face. GOOD BYE.    ↓

kboliiii

Mizon Herbal Orange Blossom Ampoule
This was my very first ampoule when I was new to the K-beauty world, and I LOVED the scent of it. I even repurchased this product once after finishing the first container. It didn’t cause any irritation or breakouts and it felt nice on the skin. However, it didn’t make a visible difference on my skin (which is what I was after at the time), so I discontinued using it.    ↓
kborange

Tonymoly Tomatox Magic Massage Pack
This is another product that prior to buying it, I had heard a lot of raving about. So when it didn’t do what it promised AND irritated my skin, naturally I was disoppointed. Especially when I wanted to love it so badly! I mean, the container is just… fun?! And the product itself smells sooooo good. But it was mainly the whitening effect I was after, so when I didn’t feel or look any different from using it, it was time for it to go.    ↓
kbtomato

Mizon Original Skin Energy Placenta 45
After I stopped using the the Mizon Herbal Orange Blossom Ampoule, I moved on to the Mizon Original Skin Energy Placenta 45, which didn’t give me any visible results either. Needless to say; I definetely didn’t miss this product after I got rid of it.    ↓

kbplac

Skinfood Premium Tomato Whitening Moisture Synergy Cream
Yet another cream that didn’t live up to my expectations. I didn’t find it very moisturizing, didn’t like the scent, didn’t like the feel of it. And it certainly wasn’t very whitening. Not missed.    ↓
kbskin

So there you have it! These are the products that all had a go on my face, but sadly got replaced. I can’t stress enough that just because I didn’t get along with these, that doesn’t mean that other people won’t like them. Again; I’m not saying they’re bad products. They just weren’t a good match for my skin. I know that some of these are loved by many, and my guess is that they aren’t Holy Grail products for no reason  🙂

My night time skin care routine!

Hey guys! 🙂
This post will be on my current night time skin care routine. Keep in mind that I’m always buying and trying new products, so my skin care regimen WILL evolve with time. This is just personally what works for me. I do like some of the products better than others. In other words; I’m still tweeking my night time routine, as I’m not completely happy with it and I know I can do better 😀

So let’s get to it!

Usually my first step will be cleansing my face with the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser, as I don’t wear make up every day. IF I’m wearing make up I start with TheFaceShop’s Rice Water Bright Cleansing Oil, to be sure to melt all the make up and gunk off my face before going in with the gel cleanser  ↓

20170416_192218

Then it’s time for a toner. I use the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner  ↓

20170416_192321

After this I apply my Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum  ↓

20170416_192448

Then I slap on my COSRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence  ↓

20170416_192506

The next step is my Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule  ↓

20170416_192408

Next up would be a moisturizer. At the moment I’m using the Earth’s Recipe Moisture Bound Cream (which I did a first impression on)  ↓

20170416_192423

As I’m moving towards the end of my night time routine, I apply my Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream  ↓

20170416_192722

And last but not least; I slap on a sleeping pack. The one I use is the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. I don’t use it every night, probably twice a week ↓

20170416_192659

And that, my friends, is my current night time skin care routine! Some of these products have been in my routine longer than others, so I’m still kind of in the middle of testing the “newcomers” out, and finding out what i like – or don’t like about them. I will be back with reviews on all of the products listed in this night time routine, one by one! Also, as mentioned before, I’m waiting for more newcomers to drop into my letter box, HO-HO-HO! Which means more products being put to the test, more reviews and possibly more tweeking 😀

Masks:

Lioele Water Drop Sleeping Pack and A’pieu Good Morning Sorbet Mask

These are all products I’ve had my eye on for at least a month, many of them for several months. There have been various reasons for not having purchased them yet, but there’s also a good reason behind everyone of them still being on my radar. Sometimes a product will be prioritized over another product at that perticular time. And sometimes you just already have enough of one product type sitting around. Nevertheless most of these will all get their chance to shine in my skin care routine at some point.

Stay tuned to find out which ones will be part of my next haul and why!
Have you tried any of these? 😀
