July empties!

Hey everyone!

In today’s post I’ll be taking you through the skin care products that are either empty as we speak, or running very low.

So let’s get to it!

The Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule from Mizon   ↓
Okay, I’ll be honest. This bad boy has been close to empty for some time now, but I took a break from it a while back and recently started using it again. Well, the little that was left. ANYWAY. It’s completely empty now, and I’m considering repurchasing it! If you’re interested in Mocka’s review on the product, you’ll find it here!

The Moistfull Collagen Water Jelly Cream from Etude House   ↓
This is a great little cream if you want something cheap that will last a long time, smells lovely, and last but not least; takes it’s job of moisturizing quite seriously. You can read my review on it here! I’ve finished about 7 tubs of this gel cream, and although it’s not FANTASTIC, it’s great for the price! Definetely a repurchase for me.

The Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream from Mizon   ↓

I’ve had two or three tubes of this little gel, and now that I’ve emptied the most recent one, I know that I will repurchase! I’m not sure how effective it is, but I love it’s thin consistency and gentle cooling effect. And I just think that it’s a great little eye cream to have on hand. Plus it’s mega cheap!

The Jeju Lava Seawater Boosting Ampoule from Innisfree   ↓
Now, this little sh*t didn’t exactly last long before the “Repurchase or not?-question” became real! The thing is, when it arrived, about one third of the product just wasn’t there, and then, about a week ago, me being the idiot that I am, managed to knock it over TWICE in about 7,5 seconds. So, yeah. But I do like the product and I might repurchase it. You’ll find my first impression here. Lol, you know you’ve messed up when you spill the remaining half of a product down the sink before you get your review out.

The Jeju Horse Oil Soothing Gel Cream from The Saem   ↓
Oh my Gosh. I just love this one. I’m usually not a fan of body lotions but this has seriously impressed my balls off. It absorbs into the skin like a dream, leaving it soothed, moisturized and smelling delish! After application the skin has a natural glow and doesn’t feel sticky or oily when touched. Score! I don’t use it every day or night, but whenever I’m going out and my arms/legs are showing, I put some on. Bye bye dry patches, hello amaze! If you’re interested in the first impression, you’ll find it here.

So that’s it for my July empties! Hope you enjoyed 🙂

Review: Etude House Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream

Hey guys!

It’s time for me to give you my thoughts on the Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream from Etude House! This is a product that I bought on a whim, after just reading a tiny bit about it on the internet. If you’ve followed this blog for a while you may know that I’m searching for the perfect cream. And when I say “cream” I mean a cream type cream, not a gel type cream.
Now, the Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream is indeed a gel type cream. Although I’ve already got enough gel creams, I decided to give this one a go, as I heard rumours about it being good for distressed and sensitive skin, which I have. In other words, I’m still on the lookout for the perfect cream! GAH! Anyways, I told you guys in my first impression on the product that I would return with a review, and here we are. Enjoy!

The basics   ↓
Product type: Gel cream
Purpose: Purify, hydrate and moisturize.
Step in skin care routine: Last step, unless you apply sunscreen or a sleeping mask.
Price (Ebay): 15.31 USD

More details   ↓

Colour: Semi clear white.
Scent: Smells like MANY other creams out there, which don’t have a particular scent, if you know what I mean? For example the Moisture Surge Cream from Clinique.
Consistency: Gel cream. Lightweight and a bit runny. Spreads out VERY easily.
Appearance on the skin: After application you’re left with a shiny finish.
Feeling on the skin: Feels allright on the skin, a bit sticky.
Container: Baby pink themed plastic tub. Cute but looks a bit cheap.
Packaging: Same as the container.
(Copy-pasted from my first first impression on the same product).

So what do I think of the Etude House Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream?
After having put this cream to the test for a little while, my conclusion is that it’s nothing special. At least not in my opinion. It’s lightweight and feels nice on the skin. I love the consistency of it and the cool feeling it provides, but it’s just not moisturizing enough for me. I haven’t tried it as a night cream, cause I already know it’s too thin for even a day cream. But I have however used it as a day cream to wear under make up. And it is good for that exact purpose. Also it hasn’t caused any breakouts.

So, if this gel ream was less jelly and more cream, and therefore probably more moisturizing, it would suit me a bit more. And if it had a delicious scent aswell, it would suit me a lot more. But it isn’t and it hasn’t. So yeah… People with less dehydrated skin would probably quite like this, but for me it’s nothing special. Having said that, this cream has a relativly short and nice list on CosDna, which is a bonus as I have sensitive acne prone skin. And what’s more? It contains 17% water from the Baobab Tree. I love natural ingredients.

What an awesome looking tree! (The Baobab) Photo borrowed from Google.

What are the cons again?
I can’t really come up with that many cons when it comes to the Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream. But as I’ve already mentioned; I just don’t find it moisturizing enough for my skin. And it lacks an amazing scent. I’m not sure if most people would count “scentless” or “neutral scent” as a con, but I for sure do! I know that many people find scents overbaring or at least a bit disturbing and I totally understand that. But for me, I love myself a nice scent when it comes to my skin care products. Not overbaring, just nice. But please note that this is coming from a BIG scent appreciater. So if you don’t like scented products and you’re after a lightweight moisturizer, this might indeed be the cream for you   🙂

And remember; I always recommend taking a closer look at any new product before purchasing it, just in case you’re allergic or sensitve to one or more of the ingredients. Personally I always check before buying a new product, because I know my skin is of the extra vulnerable type as I do have dehydrated combination skin with acne prone areas. You can find the ingredients, what they are and what they do at CosDna. In this case the product isn’t listed there, but usually when you look up a product, you’ll find it   🙂

That’s it for my review on the Pure Water Baobab from Etude House! Please let me know what your experience with this product is, if you’ve tried it!   🙂

Review: Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream

Hello darlings!

So, I thought it was about time that this lovely pink tube of goodness got it’s own review!
This is one of my favourite gel creams! It hydrates, smells nice, and I feel a difference in my skin since I introduced it to my routine. This was in fact one of the first creams I ever dabbed on, when first starting K-beauty.

So, let’s get snailin’!

Name: Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Recovery Gel Cream
Product: Gel Cream
Description: This cult favourite from Mizon is a lightweight gel type cream that helps to nourish skin. It’s concentrated with 74% snail extract; an ingredient loved for its ability to help promote the repairing of skin seen through the reduction of acne scarring, dark spots and fine lines. Also formulated with a medley of botanical and floral extracts, in addition to hyaluronic acid to deliver serious hydration without leaving any sheen or grease
Ideal for oily or combination skin types.
(Borrowed from Peach&Lily)
Claims: Hydrates, repairing the skin
Price: 4.45-18(!) $ (E-bay, Roseroseshop, Peach&Lily) Can I just say wtf to the markup on this sucker?

So this, I’m in love with! It’s the first cult product that I actually like. Sometimes I do wonder why certain things have become a cult favourite, like the Laneige product that I hate, what on earth? How did it come to be a HG? Anyways, this is not a rant, so let’s continue with my favourite snail!

Apply to face, pat pat pat.
This is indeed a moisturizing gel, so you can of course use it as one. I usually use this in a combination with the Etude House Jelly because I feel it hydrates more that way, you still get the snaily goodness, but with an extra layer of hydration. But of course, you can apply it any way you want!

This is one cloudy looking gel that spreads evenly. It is a bit sticky when you first apply it, but once it’s all soaked in, it isn’t sticky what so ever!

I usually let it soak for about 3-4 minutes while I make faces in the mirror, do my hair, and slurp my coffee, in the morning routine that is. When night time comes I’m all about efficiency and can’t wait to go to bed, so then I just do the “can’t wait to hit they hay” dance. This has to be the product that me and my skin can’t live without, it just loves it, and slurps it up in minutes, craving more.
Scent wise it’s sweet with a hint of floral, I adore the smell, but I’ve read that others find it overbaring, which I can relate to, but I find it to just leave a hint of floral when it dries, so fear not if you don’t love the smell, it fades!

I like how simple the design is, a good old fashioned squeeze tube (hygienic!) in pink, what more can a girl ask for?
The best part is that they’ve incorporated a cute white snail on the tube, it took me ages to see that it was in fact a snail, but hey, now it can’t be unseen!
The one thing that Mizon does right is that they focus on the product, and not some fancy packaging, “Hey, we made an awesome gel cream with 74% snail, enjoy the product, we don’t need no glitter and sparkles” Maybe not what they were thinking, I’m just jumping to conclusions here.

So what do I feel about it?
I think this is the review where I’ve used the word love the most times, I can’t get enough of this gel, and my skin really loves it! Did I mention it’s dirt cheap? 4.50 for a tube that lasts a while, that’s a lot of product for your money!
I have felt improvement after starting to use it, my acne scars have faded a bit, and my skin feels clearer, and a tad more even skin tone wise, which is very nice if you ask me!
So I would definitely recommend this, seeing as it’s a lightweight hydrating gel, with snail power!  It probably won’t make you break out, but I can’t guarantee it. If it turns out to be a bad guy, you’ve only wasted 5 bucks!

I’m never ever going to stop using it, I think.
So far this is my ride or die bitch, a trusted snail that supports me through purging and breakouts, and never disoppoints.
I love it! And it’s pink, huzzah!

Performance: 9/10

Today’s mini haul!

Hey guys!

I’ve just bought myself four new products, none of which I’ve tried before. Needless to say; I’m very excited and can’t wait to find them in my letter box! As you might be able to tell, I’m not very big on mega hauls. I prefer to shop for the products I want/need in smaller ammounts, and more frequent. Just how I like it!

Here are the products   ↓

Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream:
I bought this product because my current eye cream (Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream) is running very low, and I wanted to try a new one. I’m not unhappy with the Mizon, I’ve just heard great things about the Innisfree Orchic Eye Cream and I’ve been meaning to give that one a try for ages!

Scinic Honey All In One Ampoule:
This is another Holy Grail product for many, and that’s why I bought it. It really is as simple as that! Just like the Orchid Eye Cream from Innisfree, I’ve only heard good things about this ampoule, so when I discovered that my current ampoule is nearly empty, I naturally threw the Scinic Honey All In One Ampoule in my basket and ran for the hills! Did I mention that according to CosDna this product has very few irritants?

Etude House Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream:
I first heard about this product through Mocka, which (I think) read about it in a Holy Grail Thread on Reddit. I think…
The Pure Water Baobad Moist Cream from Etude House is from what I understand a gel type cream. I already have enough of these, and I should really focus my energy on finding an actualy creamy cream that will get along with my skin. BUT I’ve heard great things about it, and CosDna says it’s a peach! In other words: I just have to try it!

The Saem Jeju Horse Oil Soothing Gel Cream:
When it comes to this product in particular there’s really not too much to say at the moment. There’s no information about it on CosDna, and usually I wouldn’t buy a product that’s not listed on there. However, I read a few reviews on it and quite a few people seem to really like it! Yes, it’s another gel cream. BUT from what I understand, this product is a slightly heavier gel type cream. AND it’s not clear but white-ish, which could mean that this provides more moisture than the usual clear gel cream. There’s only one way to find out; I’m going to put it to the test!

What’s more?

I’m still waiting for a few packages I ordered a couple of weeks ago, but I have a feeling that at least one of them will arrive today or tomorrow! It’s past due! The product I’m taking about is Tonymoly’s The Fresh Phytoncide Pore Gel Cream   ↓

When it comes to this product, I wasn’t completely sure if I needed it. As I mentioned before I already own enough gel creams. However, I know my skin really loves gel type creams as opposed to the more heavy, white, creamy creams, and the one I’ve been using as a day time moisturizer for ages now (the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Water Jelly Cream) just isn’t moisturizing enough. So that’s how I came to look for another alternative, and The Fresh Phytoncide Pore Gel Cream from Tonymoly had great reviews. Plus according to CosDna, this baby has NONE irritants or acne triggers. Of course you can never be sure with any product until you’ve tried it, but I do have high hopes for this bad boy!
The rest of the products are due very soon! I’m taking about the Etude House Curl Fix Long Lash Mascara, the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum, the Mamonde Happy & Smart Cleansing Tissues and the Skinfood Aloe Watery Sun Water Gel   ↓

If you want to know why I purchased these products you can read about it in this post.

So there you have it! A little update on the products I’m expecting to arrive very soon, and the ones that will arrive in a couple of weeks! Stay tuned for first impressions and reviews of these products in the near future.

Vicky ❤
