Don’t lead me in to temptation, I can find it myself, thank you very much.

Hiya Darlings!
Missed me?

For once the weather up north has been summer-ish, so I’ve spent far too much time trying to get tanned when I should in fact realize that I’m a lobster-girl. Forever red, never sunkissed.
But! I haven’t forgotten you, even if you’ve forgotten me!
So today I thought I’d share a little something something, which basically means that I broke my no-buy, for the what, 19283959th time? And just HAD to get some things!
So this is what I’m currently longing to get my peach smelling impatient little hands on!

s-l400
Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum
This.. Where to begin? Vicky has raved about this since the beginning of time, so first I ordered a pack of 20 samples, used them, didn’t really feel overly enthusiastic about it, until I ran out. I actually started missing the serum from my routine, and seeing as my beloved peach serum  seems to be discontinued, I have to find something else to love, I’m thinking this will do until I find my HG/Love of my life serum.

s-l1600

Missha All Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk

To be honest, this is just a repurchase of the sunscreen close to my heart.
I’m THIS close to running out, and unless I want to act like a weird emo vampire, this better arrive soon! I have a backup from Tosowoong, but nobody can really compete with this lovely milk, that not only protects my skin, but also makes for a kick ass primer!

11847_shop2_200129
Well, what can I say?
I fell head first for one of the Jolse Cosrx deals, and bought this, the gel cleanser I’ve tried before, but not the not so infamous moisture lotion with birch sap, but I know it’s raved about, and if I’m not mistaken it’s not a heavy moisturizer, which makes it a good companion in the summertime, so this I’m actually excited to try out!

And then, this one!

Basically I’m planning a trip in the beginning of September which might include sunbathing, and seeing as I’m an impatient lobsterprone person, I figured I should travel prepared, and what better way to treat sunburn than some aloe goodness? And have you seen that container? It’s adorable!
So yeah, it might not be all new shiny products, but some good old friends of mine, or my skin, all depending on how you see it!

Anyway, have you tried any of these products?

Let me know!

July Mishibox!

Hello darlings!

As I mentioned in my previous post the Mishibox for July arrived in my mailbox this week, and I’ve already tried one of the products inside! And I loved it, just FYI.

So if you’re a subscriber and haven’t received your box yet, you might consider not reading beyond this point, cuz I’m about to spill the beans on this box!

I actually reused the picture of the box itself from the previous post, because I’m a bit lazy in the summertime. Sorry, not sorry.

Anyway! Stop reading here if you don’t want to know what the box contains, as for the curious ones, let’s get cracking!

So many goodies! So yes, a lot of masks in this one, well, not a lot, but two face masks and a foot mask? Whoever packs this box wants us to stay glowy and hydrated in the summertime!

I’m a sucker for sheetmasks, so this is something I’m looking forward to try, the yoghurt mask pack from Skin’s Boni. I’ve read good things about it on Instagram and they’re almost always never correct. You feel me?

Next we have the all in one modelling mask from Lindsay, now here they had a bunch of different ones, and you get one at random, lucky for me I got the shiny gold one that’s supposed to energize, this is going to be a treat for the skin after those long summer days at work!

Ah, this one. The Foot & Heel peeling mask from Esfolio.

I’ve already used it, and I have to admit that it’s my first time trying a foot mask, it was weird, imagine wanting to walk to the kitchen to grab another cup of coffee with these foot-diapers on. The struggle was real. But I managed. Now I’m just dreading the whole peeling part, which is to occur within the next three days. Oh god why.

Im guessing that the Mishibox people are big on spot treatments, the June box had a spot treatment from Proud Mary, that really didn’t do shit, so why the F are you so proud, Mary? But this one might be more up my alley! This is the Trouble Skin Solution from Chamos Acaci, and seeing as I love the lemon cream from the June box, things are looking good for the spot solution from the same manufacturer.
MCC’s Natural Herb Essential Lip Balm
This is one thing I’ve never actually used frequently, something as simple as a lip balm, and when I think about it, it makes perfect sense to care for your lips the same way you care for the rest of your body. I’ve previously used Laneige’s sleeping lip mask but it gives me nada except a greasy smooch on my pillowcase. Lovely.

And lastly.. uggh. I’m sorry, but if you’ve leaped up with this blog you know how little love I have for Laneige, or rather the Laneige products I’ve tried so far, so in this month’s Mishibox there was of course a sleeping pack sample, from no other than Laneige. And again, any takers? It’s up for grabs!

So there you have it guys! Now I just have to test them all thoroughly, sniffing every scent and feeling every texture before I give you all awesome updates and reviews! Any wishes on what to test first? Let me know!

Have you tried any of these products? Feel free to share your experience with them!

Peace&Love

I gots me some of that Mishibox Magic!

Hello Darlings!

Can I just start off with giving creds to Mr. Boyfriend for actually getting all the hints I’ve been dropping the last couple of months before my birthday?
With hints being bombarding of Mishibox talk 24/7.
If you’re no stranger to our blog you might have noticed that we love testing new products, reading about them, putting them in our basket, clicking them home, and waiting. Well, we hate the waiting, but everything else is pure skintastic magic!
And when it finally arrives, YAY, Christmas day!

Anyway, I do enjoy a surprise every now and then, so I’ve been considering buying a subscription box, but I never really got around to doing it, so when the SO started asking me about what I wanted for my birthday the answer was simple, and he actually bought it! So hyped!

You know what’s even more hype? The first box arrived yesterday, and I swear it was like a birthday and a mini christmas morning all at the same time!

Now, I will talk about what’s in the box, so if you’re a subscriber and haven’t received your June box yet, you might not want to keep reading on. But if you’re as curious as me, keep reading hun!

img_9246

First of all, I love the box, pink, with a little bunny on it, what more can I ask for? Or any other bunny-loving pink-sniffing k-beauty blogger?
Anyway!
Again, spoiler alert, here’s what the box contains!

img_9245

Now, this is my first box ever, but I have to say I’m very impressed with the content of it, I haven’t gotten around to testing any of it yet, seeing as I leave the country tomorrow, but I will bring with me a little something something to test while we’re on the road!

img_9250

First off, we have this little fellow!
Cleansing water from Thank You Farmer, this is just adorable! And I have heard good things about this brand, so I’m looking forward to trying the product, it’s also sample sized, so super for when you’re on the go!

img_9251

Then there’s the A.C. Cure Spot Solution from Proud Mary, not that I’ve actually ever heard of Proud Mary, but if this products works I can totally get why she’s proud. This will also be tested on the road, seeing as my skin is being a total a’hole right now with allergy season and too much BB cream usage.

img_9249

YES! LEMON! I like lemons, but the good sour ones, not the bitter mushy ones.
This is the Chamos Acaci Lemon Ultra Whitening Cream, it’s supposed to control sebum and whiten, what’s not to like about it?

img_9252

This is just so friggin cute!
It’s the Pink Fruity Wash Off Mask from Half Moon Eyes
I have never tried these types of masks, so I’m actually quite curious as to how they are when applied, I’m guessing it’s just like any other face mask, but hey, they come it these cute little portion sized packs, of course it could be something else entirely or just the same, I’ll just have to test it to know!

Lastly, but not least, the product I’m currently trying while writing this post
img_9247

Esfolio’s Red Ginseng Essence Mask Sheet
There’s basically nothing like a real good sheet mask, to me that is.
These are just a must if you want that extra boost of moisture and bounce, these as in sheet masks in general, so far I’m liking this, but I’ll have to report back to you guys on how much I liked/hated it.

So there you have it, pretty simple and fun products I can’t wait to try and hopefully love!
What surprised me the most is that I’ve never used or heard of these products before. I have heard about some of the manufacturers, but not the specific product.

Anyway! In a few hours I’m leaving for my summer vacation and won’t be blogging the upcoming week, I’ll try my best to IG some goodies, but you know, those drinks with umbrellas and shopping might take all my energy, sorry, not sorry.
I’ll be back the week after with juicy new content, but until then Vicky will have to guide you guys in our adventure through the jungle known as everything Asian Beauty related!

Have you tried any of these products?
Let me know!

Hope you guys have a lovely week!

First impression: Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream

Hey guys!

It’s time for me to share my first thoughts on the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream! This is a product that I bought on a complete whim after my dear Mocka brought it to my attention. (She’s a lot better than me when it comes to finding the more obscure skin care products out there). Usually I do quite a fair bit of research before purchasing a product, but now and again that just doesn’t happen and a product manages to sneak it’s way into my basket. And this mofo did just that. *Cough* ANYWAY.

Let’s get to it   ↓

20170528_191820

The basics   ↓

Product type: Cream
Purpose: Hydrating, whitening, nourishing, smoothing, anti-wrinkle care and moisturizing.
Step in skin care routine: Last step, unless you apply a sunscreen (day) or sleeping mask (night).
Price (Ebay): 17.17 USD

More details   ↓

Colour: White
Scent: Flowery scent.
Consistency: Quite thin for a cream. Spreads out nicely.
Appearance on the skin: After application you’re left with a satin finish.
Feeling on the skin: Feels nice, silky and refreshing on the skin. Oh, and very luxurious!
Container: Medium size, quite heavy and probably too fragile for travelling as it appears to be made of frozen glass instead of the more typical solid plastic. Comes decorated with some kind of cloth, cute.
Packaging: White box with black decor.

20170528_191950

Having only tried the Dynasty Cream from Beauty of Joseon once, my first impression consists of mixed feelings and thoughts. I have many a time purchased a holy grail product, put it to the test and just not understood the hype. Equally as many times have I tried more obscure products and ended up really liking them. Funny how that happens. This is something both me and Mocka have experienced. My point is that I had really high hopes and expectations when it came to this product, and although it’s not bad, I don’t feel like my expectations were met, cause it’s not amazing either. And I’ll tell you why.

First of all, the container was damaged when I took it out of the box and quite a lot of product had leaked out. Now, I could just pin it on bad luck (which it most definetely was aswell) and say “This could’ve happened with any other product” (which probably is very possible) but the fact is that it didn’t happen to any other product, at least not in my personal experience. It happened to this one.

I’ve ordered loads and loads of skin care products from Korea for over a year now, and yeah, sure, I’ve recieved two or three tubs of moisturizer with broken seals, but none of them leaked and were missing product. And all those tubs had one thing in common: they were made out of solid plastic, as opposed to glass or frozen glass (like this mofo).
I know, this can’t possibly happen to all of the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream tubs. Obviously had I lived in Korea and therefore been able to purchase this product without it having to get on a plane (or three), this probably wouldn’t have happened. But it did, and I’m not happy about it. It doesn’t matter if it’s the manufacturer’s fault or the seller’s fault for not packing it properly. I’m still going to stick to plastic tubs from now on, because of the risky plane journey each of my products must take. This isn’t meant as a rant, just something you might want to consider before buying fragile products   🙂

20170528_191841

Moving on to the product itself, I’m not crazy about the scent. I mean, it’s not bad, it’s just not amazeballs. And if you’ve followed this blog for a while, you may know that a product’s scent is very important to me and there really isn’t a lot inbetween “Disgusting”, “Neutral” and “Amazefest” on Vicky’s Scent Scale. However, when it comes to the consistency it’s actually really nice. It feels very luxurious on the skin and spreads out like a silky dream! Unfortunatly I don’t think the Dynasty Cream from Beauty of Joseon brought it’s A Game when it comes to it’s most imporant task (in my opinion) which is moisturizing. Of course, one can never be too sure from just one application, but I’m going to be honest; I have my doubts.

Also, it’s probably worth mentioning that I failed to find the correct listing on CosDna for this product prior to purchasing it (God knows how I messed that up), but I found it now! And let’s just say… it’s not looking good. I’m crossing my fingers, hoping and praying that my face won’t look like a rat who barely survived eating rat poison, in a couple of weeks time. Not that it’s the worst CosDna listing I’ve ever seen (cause it’s definetely not) but my skin is sen-si-tive, and usually it’ll freak out if you so much as breathe on it. So yeah.

20170528_192016

And remember; I always recommend taking a closer look at any new product before purchasing it, just in case you’re allergic or sensitve to one or more of the ingredients. Personally I always check before buying a new product, because I know my skin is of the extra vulnerable type as I do have dehydrated combination skin with acne prone areas. You can find the ingredients, what they are and what they do at CosDna
.

20170528_191928

As with any other product I put to the test, I’ll be back with a full review on the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty in a couple of weeks, maybe even before. Sometimes it takes a good couple of weeks to fully experience the effects of a skin care product, but sometimes you know even after just one week, if your skin is hating or loving it. So stay tuned if you want to join me in finding out if this obscure moisturizer is in fact a hidden gem, a common rock or just pure dog sh*t!

So that’s it for my first impression on this cream! I Hope you found it helpful. And please let me know if you’ve tried it and if you like it!

First impression: Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Boosting Ampoule

Hey guys!

The time has come to share my first thoughts on a product that was completely new to me only a few weeks ago. I’m talking about the Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Boosting Ampoule! This is supposed to be a hydrating product, and hydration is something my skin is in desperate need of.
As you might know; I’ve been searching for the perfect moisturizing cream for ages now. I’ve been trying cheap ones, expensive ones and everything in between without any luck. So recently (probably a couple months ago) I thought it was time for me to purchase more hydrating products aswell. After all, what’s the point in applying a good moisturizer if there isn’t any hydration in the skin to begin with? ANYWAY, that is why I ended up buying the Juju Lava Seawater Boosting Ampoule from Innisfree, along with the Supple Preparation Facial Toner from Klairs. I’m not quite there yet, but I’m going to have to start somewhere, right?

Let’s get to it   ↓

20170525_194013

The basics   ↓
Product type: Ampoule
Purpose: Hydration
Step in skin care routine: After toner, before heavier/thicker products
Price (Ebay): 19.65 USD

More details   ↓

Colour: Clear.
Scent: Barely there scent. Smells of something, but hardly noticable.
Consistency: Very thin and runny. Spreads out quite nicely.
Appearance on the skin: After application you’re left with a satin finish.
Feeling on the skin: Feels pleasant on the skin, absorbs quickly.
Container: Beautiful dark blue glass bottle with silver writing on it.
Dispenser: Dropper. Hygienic!
Packaging: Blue and white themed box.

20170525_194649

I’ve actually used the Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Boosting Ampoule a few times now (yep, more than once, shame on me!) and I think I actually quite like it so far. The product is very thin and I love watery skin care products, cause I find that they absorb into my skin like a dream. And afterwards my face always looks and feels refreshed and healthy. What girl doesn’t want that?! When it comes to doing what it claims, which is to hydrate the skin, I’ll have to give this product another week or two, but so far I’m enjoying it   🙂

20170525_194030

And remember; I always recommend taking a closer look at any new product before purchasing it, just in case you’re allergic or sensitve to one or more of the ingredients. Personally I always check before buying a new product, because I know my skin is of the extra vulnerable type as I do have dehydrated combination skin with acne prone areas. You can find the ingredients, what they are and what they do at CosDna.

20170525_194111

As with any other product I put to the test, I’ll be back with a full review on the Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Boosting Ampoule in a couple of weeks, if not before. It really all depends on how good or bad my skin takes to said product. But I must say that I have a rather good feeling about this ampoule, and although I’m not sure how effective it is yet, I highly doubt that it will give me any trouble! Just how I like it.

So that’s it for my “first” impression on this ampoule! I Hope you found it helpful. And please let me know if you’ve tried it and in that case; what you think of it!

Rave of the week: The Ordinary

Hello darlings!

As you can probably tell by this post’s headline this is a rave! On a Monday? Outrageous!
Seeing as I haven’t got any real hate going on in the product department I decided to actually put out some good vibes for a change.
And let me tell you guys, these things smell of good vibes and happy skin!

This post is not sponsored in any shape or form, these are all my honest opinions.

After getting a hot tip from a lovely Instagrammer I decided to hop on the hype train!
I’ve been using two of their products for 1 1/2 weeks, and I can already see a difference!

So first, I want to talk about the product that eradicated the millia I had from previous bastards. I’m talking caffeine deliciousness in the form of a bottle & dropper
rdn-caffeine-solution-5pct-egcg-30ml

Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
(pictures borrowed from The Ordinary’s website)

This is pure genius.
So far this product has de-puffed my bags and it seems that the purple/blue hue that I tend to have after long nights of hauling and sniffing snails are slowly starting to run for the hills, or back to the store they came from. Mygod, my sense of humor is amazing. (Shopping)bags under my eyes, get it? Hah! I know it’s bad when I feel like I need to explain it.
It is apparently a known effect that when one mixes caffeine and Epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside (EGCG) from green tea leaves, you get de-puffed, at least according to Deciem’s website. So basically, I could’ve mixed coffee and green tea and mashed it together and applied the goo to my face?
Yeah, probably not, that would’ve been way to easy, I think I’ll just stick to this serum instead.
I’ve actually considered patch testing this on other parts of my face, just to see how it reacts, if I end up doing it, I will let you guys know how it went!

Moving on to the darling close to my heart;
rdn-100pct-organic-cold-pressed-rose-hip-seed-oil-30ml
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

Where do I begin with this beauty?
I had basically lost all hope that my closed comedones where ever going to get the hell off my face. The last couple of months I’ve been testing and buying everything I thought was going to help me, but always ended up breaking out or getting even more CC’s. I really thought that I had to accept the fact that I was forever going to be known as Miss Bumpyface.
And let me tell you, that on it’s own is actually pretty sad. I’ve had troubled skin since pre-teen years, and tried endless varieties of skin care products. Most of them just made my skin angry, super oily, and super bumpy. Western skincare is well and all that, but you basically pay a lot of money for products designed to dry your skin out, in hope of luring the sebum and puss out, and we all know that isn’t really how it works.
So when I finally got into Korean skincare there was yet again hope for me and my bumps, or humps, all depending on the size of those bastards.
So I started purchasing everything whitehead related, but the products didn’t really seem to DO anything, they just made my skin feel soft, but didn’t really take care of the problem.
So when I purchased the rose hip oil I was super skeptical, but thought, what the hey!
And let me tell you guys, it is the bomb dot com!
This oil has really helped my skin in the short time I’ve used it, and I’m just super excited about it!
I know it’s a tad far out to call it a Korean skincare product considering it’s from a Canada based company, but seeing as rose hip oil itself is popular in AB skincare, I’ll just go with it!
I’ve gone from having CC’s all the way from my cheekbones to my chin, to just having this contour line that is slowly fading as well, *happydance*
I can’t give full credit to the oil itself, but with the assistance of my Cosrx Galactomyces essence they do one hell of a job!

So far so good, darlings!

I will keep you posted, and there will be a full review up on these good guys when I’ve tested them thoroughly.

Have you tried these products?
Let me know!

-Mocka

Today’s arrivals!

Hey guys!

So today I found a load of products waiting for me in my letter box! Oh, happy day! I ordered all of them around the same date so it’s not a suprise that so many came at the same time, but it still feels amazing to get my hands on them all, MUHAHAHA! (And that sounds a bit creepy). *Cough* ANYWAY, everyday there’s a package (or nine) in my letter box is a good day! Like I’ve said before; it feels like Christmas every single time!
