First impression: Skinfood’s Tea Tree Clearing Emulsion

Hey guys!

It’s time for another first impression, and this time I’m taking a closer look at the Tea Tree Clearing Emulsion from Skinfood. This is one of the few products I’ve purchased that isn’t listed on CosDna. But I read some great reviews on it and many people with sensitive/troubled skin, seem to find it very helpfull with it’s soothing and clearing properties. And boy is my skin in need of that! Also, I don’t have an emulsion in my routine and I do like Skinfood so I’m willing to give this product a fair chance. Enjoy!

The basics   ↓

Product type: Emulsion
Purpose: Clear, soften, refresh and moisturize

More details   ↓
Colour: White
Scent: Tea tree
Consistency: Quite thin but not runny. Spreads out nicely.
Appearance on the skin: After absorbation you’re left with a satin finish.
Feeling on the skin: Feels cool and refreshing on the skin.
Container: Made of plastic, nice and clean design. Looks a bit medicinal, maybe?
Dispenser: Pump, very hygenic!
Packaging: The product came without a package, but was sealed with plastic   🙂

Prior to spreading the Skinfood Tea Tree Emulsion, it appears to be pure white and it looks like a rather heavy moisturizer. But once you spread it out, you get to see how thin and light the consistency really is. It glides on like a dream and immediatly makes your skin feel cool and fresh before leaving a nice, satin finish. My impression is that my skin looks rather revitalized after absorbation. Also, this emulsion smells like fresh tea tree, which isn’t a shock as it contains both tea tree leaf extract and tea tree leaf oil! I would say the scent is very similar to the Good Morning Low pH gel cleanser from COSRX; nice and natural.

20170428_164747

After only trying the Skinfood Tea Tree Clearing Emulsion once, I must admit that so far  I really like it! As usual; keep in mind, that I’m saying this after only trying it ONCE. So my opinion on the product might have changed by the time I sit myself down to write the full review in a couple of weeks. Meanwhile I’m very eager to find out if this product does as promised; clears and soothes my troubled skin.

As with any product I try, I’ll be back with a full review after putting this emulsion to the test for a couple of weeks. So stay tuned!

Mini haul: Three oldies and one newcomer!

Hey guys! 😀

I just bought a few things that I want to share with you, and the reason why I bought each and one of them! As you probably already know from the title of this post; three of these are repurchased products. I’m talking about the Etude House Curl Fix Long Lash Mascara, the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum and the Mamonde Happy & Smart Cleansing Tissues. I love all of these for different reasons and I’ll tell you why I repurchased them in minute. First I’d like to introduce the newcomer. It’s the Skinfood Aloe Watery Sun Water Gel!

20170419_174931

Let’s start with the oldies   ↓

The Etude House Curl Fix Long Lash Mascara:
I love this mascara for many different reasons. First off, it’s very affordable and it lasts a long time. The applicator is on the small side so it’s easy to get the product all over your lashes and inbetween, without getting it in your eyes. It’s waterproof like you wouldn’t believe! I’m talking; it’s still on my lashes 100 % after taking a shower or even after swimming. You definetely need an oil cleanser to get this bad boy off! And the best part? It looks great on! It contains small fibers that stick to the end of your lashes to make them look even longer. LOVE.

The Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum:
For this particular product I love it, but I also have some mixed feelings about it, if that makes sense? Allthough I’ve used this serum for over a year and this is the third time I’ve bought it, I’m still not quite sure how much of a difference it makes on my skin, but I love the consistency and I love the scent! I guess it’s soothing and it hydrates my skin a bit, but it’s like I can feel it’s not quite enough? I think I can do better but for now it’s a good serum to have in my skin care regimen and I love it for not breaking me out and for being very long lasting.

The Mamonde Happy & Smart Cleansing Tissues:
If you read my post about my morning skin care routine from yesterday, you already know how much I adore these cleansing tissues. They’re just amazingly convenient, sooo easy to use, do a great job of cleaning my face in the morning and they smell ridiculously good! This is the third time I’ve bought them and this time I got the refill packet because I’ve already got the box.

And now, the newcomer   ↓

The Skinfood Aloe Watery Sun Water Gel:
I’m going to be completely honest with you; I only had one sample of this product and only tried it once before throwing it in my shopping cart. I just couldn’t help myself. I never expected to find a sun block that could replace my beloved Missha All Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk, but this mofo made my head spin. The Skinfood Aloe Watery Sun Water Gel is thinner than my Missha, something I really appreciate when it comes to sun block. It felt better on my skin, looked great on my skin and OH MY GOD it smells sooooo good! Instant buy. Of course it’ll take some time finding out if it doesn’t break me out, but I doubt it will. According to CosDna it’s even a little bit kinder than my Missha, so it should be okay!

So there you have it! My report on today’s mini haul. Hope you enjoyed!

My morning skin care routine!

Hey guys! 😀

A couple of days ago I wrote a post about my night time skin care routine, and now it’s time to share with you my morning routine, which is a little different but not a lot 🙂

So let’s get to it!

The first step in my morning skin care routine is cleansing my face. Some of you may disagree with me on this one, but personally I don’t think it’s necisary to wash my face with a gel – or foam cleanser when I’ve just gotten out of bed. I never, ever go to bed with make up on, so the only thing I wake up with on my face, is product residue from the creams etc I put on the night before. I usually just wipe my face clean with a facial tissue. The ones I use are the Mamonde Happy & Smart Cleansing Tissues. Ah! So convenient!   ↓

Then I move on to tone my face. I use the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner, just like in my night time routine!  ↓

20170418_212834

Next, I apply a serum. The one I use is the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum   ↓

20170418_212900

After that I apply an essence. At the moment I’m using the COSRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence   ↓

20170418_212910

Now this next step I consider optional in my morning routine; my Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule. I always use this in my night time routine, but sometimes in the morning I will skip this step. The reason being this ampoule is a little bit sticky, and on days I wear make up, I find that it’s better to avoid sticky products.   ↓

20170418_212927

As I’m moving towards the end of my morning routine, I slap on a moisturizing cream. Since I might be putting on make up, I like to use a thinner type of cream. In this case the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Water Jelly Cream   ↓

20170418_212943

After all that it’s time to apply some eye cream. I use the Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream   ↓

20170418_213000

Last but not least, I slap some sun block on my face. After all, it’s daytime and it’s important to protect your face from the sun. The one I use is the Missha All Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk 50   ↓

So there you have it; my morning skin care routine! As I said in the post about my night time routine, I’m always buying and trying new products, so my skin care regimen will change as the time flies by. I’m always curious to put new products to the test (at least the ones that are new to me) and I’m constantly looking to tweek both of my routines to perfection!

The products that didn’t make it

Hey guys! 🙂

In this post I’ll take you through a load of skin care products that I’ve put to the test, but for various reasons lost their place in my skin care regimen. I’m NOT saying that any of these products are bad. They just didn’t work out for me, and I’m going to tell you why 🙂

Included in this post (in no perticular order)   ↓

COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner
Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Deep Essence
Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence
Innisfree Green Tea Fresh Essence
The Saem Urban Eco Harakeke Seed Firming Eye Cream
Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Foam
The Saem Iceland Water Volume Cream
Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Cream
Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask
Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Foam
Mizon Herbal Orange Blossom Ampoule
Tonymoly Tomatox Magic Massage Pack
Mizon Original Skin Energy Placenta 45
Skinfood Premium Tomato Whitening Moisture Synergy Cream

So let’s get to it!   ↓

COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner
This toner survived in my skin care routine for about two or three weeks, before I went back to my Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner. I didn’t experience any irritation and it didn’t break me out. It just didn’t do… anything? Well, maybe it DID something, but whatever that might have been, I didn’t see or feel any changes. Oh, and I also hated having to spray my toner onto my face or a cotton pad. But I know this is a Holy Grail product for many. It just wasn’t for me.    ↓

Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Deep Essence

I sort of bought this product on a whim. I had never heard of a deep essence before so naturally I wanted to try it. Honestly, I have some mixed feelings about this product. I really liked the feel of it on the skin and the scent. It didn’t break me out or irritate my skin in any other way. I actually used the whole bottle, I just didn’t repurchase it after it was all gone. But now I’m sat here thinking that I might buy it next time I’m hauling, because it IS a nice extra layer of moisture to the skin.    ↓

kbdeep

Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence

When it comes to this essence, I’ve already written a first impression on it, and I said I’d write a full review on it after testing it further, but I don’t really see the point in doing that yet. If you read my first impression, well, my thoughts haven’t changed at all and I can tell they won’t. The container is gorgeous but nothing about the essence itself impressed me. I’ve heard that many people love this product and it probably works great for them, but for me this will be saved as a last resort.    ↓

kbhoney

Innisfree Green Tea Fresh Essence

What I said about the Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Deep Essence sort of goes for the Innisfree Green Tea Fresh Essence aswell. This was my first ever essence and I really enjoyed it. I loved the scent, which is similar to the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum, and I liked the feel of it. I guess I just didn’t repurchase it because it was my first essence, I was new to the K-beauty world and I thought I could find something even better. After all, there really is a whole universe of products out there!    ↓

kbfresh

The Saem Urban Eco Harakeke Firming Seed Eye Cream
If you read my review on this product you already know why it had to go. But for you guys who didn’t read it; basically this eye cream was way too thick and heavy for my eye area and within a week of using it I had full on Milia. This is another product I bought when I was completely new in the AB game and it was my very first eye cream from the K-beauty world. Sadly it didn’t work out and I replaced it with the Mizon Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream.    ↓
kbharaaaInnisfree Green Tea Cleansing Foam
This was also one of my very first products from the K-beauty world. I remember getting it after a friend recommended green tea as a soothing ingredient for my sensitive, acne prone combination skin. Plus it was very afforable. I used this cleansing foam for a couple of months before I replaced it. The reason being my face felt dry and tight after using it, which is a shame bacause I loved the scent and it did a good job of actually cleansing my face. It was just too drying on my skin.    ↓
kbgreen

The Saem Iceland Water Volume Cream
I really wanted to love this moisturizer, because the container is gorgeous and the cream itself smells rather good. But it just didn’t “sit right” on my skin. It’s hard to explain exactly what I’m on about, but sometimes when I apply a new product, it just doesn’t feel right? It’s like I can feel it right from the start if a product will break me out if I continue using it. I’ve had this feeling quite a few times and when that happens I usually don’t proceed using said product. Maybe that’s a bad habit of mine? Because I know you’re meant to give a new product a couple of weeks to give it a fair chance, but I just can’t stand that “weird” feeling some products give me. So this cream had to go.    ↓
kbice

Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Cream
This cream was my very first moisturizer from the K-beauty world. I loved the scent, but unfortunately this little bastard broke me out. Oh, and that weird feeling I was on about earlier? Yep. That happened with this one aswell.    ↓
kbinnisElizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask
When I purchased this mask I really liked the consept of it. I mean, a mask that bubbles up to a thick foam after applying it to your face!? HELL YES. But I did end up having mixed feelings about this product after using it four or five times. The mask gave my face a deeper cleanse and it removed dead skin and left my face baby soft! However, it dried me out and I didn’t like the scent at all. Now, I’m a person who’s very sensitive to scents, so I gave it to Mocka to try and she loved it! But as far as I’m concerned I won’t repurchase.    ↓
kbmilky

Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Foam
This is the cleanser I replaced the Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Foam with. I was still quite new in the AB game when this happened, and because I liked the scent and consistency of the Green Tea Cleansing Foam, not to mention the affordability, I wanted to stick with Innisfree. But this time I went for the Olive Real Cleansing Foam, as this was meant to be less stripping and more hydrating because of the olive oil. But that wasn’t the case, at least not for me. This cleanser dried me out just as much as the Green Tea Cleansing Foam AND stung and irritated the hell out of my face. GOOD BYE.    ↓

kboliiii

Mizon Herbal Orange Blossom Ampoule
This was my very first ampoule when I was new to the K-beauty world, and I LOVED the scent of it. I even repurchased this product once after finishing the first container. It didn’t cause any irritation or breakouts and it felt nice on the skin. However, it didn’t make a visible difference on my skin (which is what I was after at the time), so I discontinued using it.    ↓
kborange

Tonymoly Tomatox Magic Massage Pack
This is another product that prior to buying it, I had heard a lot of raving about. So when it didn’t do what it promised AND irritated my skin, naturally I was disoppointed. Especially when I wanted to love it so badly! I mean, the container is just… fun?! And the product itself smells sooooo good. But it was mainly the whitening effect I was after, so when I didn’t feel or look any different from using it, it was time for it to go.    ↓
kbtomato

Mizon Original Skin Energy Placenta 45
After I stopped using the the Mizon Herbal Orange Blossom Ampoule, I moved on to the Mizon Original Skin Energy Placenta 45, which didn’t give me any visible results either. Needless to say; I definetely didn’t miss this product after I got rid of it.    ↓

kbplac

Skinfood Premium Tomato Whitening Moisture Synergy Cream
Yet another cream that didn’t live up to my expectations. I didn’t find it very moisturizing, didn’t like the scent, didn’t like the feel of it. And it certainly wasn’t very whitening. Not missed.    ↓
kbskin

So there you have it! These are the products that all had a go on my face, but sadly got replaced. I can’t stress enough that just because I didn’t get along with these, that doesn’t mean that other people won’t like them. Again; I’m not saying they’re bad products. They just weren’t a good match for my skin. I know that some of these are loved by many, and my guess is that they aren’t Holy Grail products for no reason  🙂

My night time skin care routine!

Hey guys! 🙂
This post will be on my current night time skin care routine. Keep in mind that I’m always buying and trying new products, so my skin care regimen WILL evolve with time. This is just personally what works for me. I do like some of the products better than others. In other words; I’m still tweeking my night time routine, as I’m not completely happy with it and I know I can do better 😀

So let’s get to it!

Usually my first step will be cleansing my face with the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser, as I don’t wear make up every day. IF I’m wearing make up I start with TheFaceShop’s Rice Water Bright Cleansing Oil, to be sure to melt all the make up and gunk off my face before going in with the gel cleanser  ↓

20170416_192218

Then it’s time for a toner. I use the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner  ↓

20170416_192321

After this I apply my Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum  ↓

20170416_192448

Then I slap on my COSRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence  ↓

20170416_192506

The next step is my Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule  ↓

20170416_192408

Next up would be a moisturizer. At the moment I’m using the Earth’s Recipe Moisture Bound Cream (which I did a first impression on)  ↓

20170416_192423

As I’m moving towards the end of my night time routine, I apply my Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream  ↓

20170416_192722

And last but not least; I slap on a sleeping pack. The one I use is the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. I don’t use it every night, probably twice a week ↓

20170416_192659

And that, my friends, is my current night time skin care routine! Some of these products have been in my routine longer than others, so I’m still kind of in the middle of testing the “newcomers” out, and finding out what i like – or don’t like about them. I will be back with reviews on all of the products listed in this night time routine, one by one! Also, as mentioned before, I’m waiting for more newcomers to drop into my letter box, HO-HO-HO! Which means more products being put to the test, more reviews and possibly more tweeking 😀

Waiting and waiting…

Hey guys!

I need to moan just for a second, so bare with me.

While I’m away and enjoying the Easter Holidays, I can’t help but think about the order I’m awaiting! God, I’m so impatient…

I usually get my stuff within 7-10 days. And guess what? THIS IS THE TENTH DAY, and It’s just too bad that I’m not home at the moment. I hate that I can’t possible know if my order has arrived or not. You know, cause of Easter n’shit (no offense, lols).

Gaaah! I NEED my new products. I want to hold them in my hands and sniff them… #kbeautyaddict

I’ll tell you one thing for free; I expect that shit to be in my letterbox on sunday when I get home.
