First Impression: Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Mask

Hello Darlings!

Sorry for being radio silent for a couple of days, I’ve been sniffing too many snails, and licking too much honey, so I had to take a little break!
But, I’m back with another first impression on what seems to be a favourite for a lot of you guys!

First off, I just have to say that it annoys me just looking at it. Not that I hate the product or anything, but this took almost 3 months before it arrived, so basically the seller annoys me. I had to message them several times before they even shipped the product. A-holes.

Anyway! Let’s talk rice!

Yet another Cosrx product, huh?
Yes! This was indeed one of the first products I purchased, the first sleeping mask in fact, but due to super slow sellers/shipping this fried rice didn’t show up until now.
Anyway, I swiftly made my way to the bathroom, slipped on my PJ’s and put this one to the test only hours after I had received it!

Packaging:
Nice, simple, elegant. Typical Cosrx, in other words; cute little jar with a matching box. Sort of what you see is what you get kind of thing.
This is one of the things I like about both Cosrx and Mizon, simple packaging and good products, (give or take a few fails).

Texture&Smell:
This doesn’t really smell much to be honest. I get this little whiff of sweet rice, but when applied to my face it slowly fades. Now, my nose might still be out of order, boogers and all, but for now I’ll stick to that description. Maybe it has dramatically changed when it’s time for the review.
img_8210

At first I was like, what, this consistency? Now, keep in mind that I’m used to the Laneige and the Tony Moly Panda, so I was expecting this cloudy gel cream looking thing, which it has hints of, but leans more to the creamy specter of the scale. Which makes a lot of sense when reading about it, this product triples as a moisturizer, a wash off and a sleeping pack, all depending on what you want to use it for!

img_8211
It’s super easy to apply, spreads nicely and doesn’t resemble sticky rice, which is nice!
And when it soaks in you’re left with a dewy finish, just my cup of tea! Or bowl of rice.
img_8212

So after 5-6 minutes you’re left with this. Of course when I apply it before bedtime I usually spread on a generous layer, brush my teeth, dance around a little bit, and then think about making my way to bed, so the soaking usually takes a bit longer.
I have still to try this as both a wash off and a moisturizer, but if my skin doesn’t totally ragequit on this bowl of yum, I’ll try it. Maybe not at the same time, but fear not, this product will be thoroughly tested, sniffed, applied in a various amount of ways and almost eaten, so that the review will cover all the little grains of this little bad boy!

But so far I like this product. Fingers crossed that my skin loves carbs as much as I do!

Have you tried it?
Let me know!

Peace&Love

The products I use weekly…

Hey guys!

I’ve already posted my morning skin care routine and my evening routine, so I think it’s high time that I show you the products that aren’t included in my everyday skin care regimen, but still have a solid spot in my weekly routine. In other words; I’m now going to take you through the products I use weekly, instead of every day.

So let’s get to it   ↓

I have two sleeping masks from Laneige; the very popular Water Sleeping Mask and the more obscure Special Care Lip Sleeping mask. I love them both but I only feel that I need them occasionally, probably 1-2 times a week, sometimes even less. My goal is to discover and use products that hydrate and moisturize my face sufficiently during the day and night on their own, so that a sleeping mask becomes an occasional treat as oppose to a necessity. So far that hasn’t happened yet, which means that I will be applying a sleeping mask when I need one. When it comes to the lip sleeping mask, I only use it when my lips are very dry, which is mostly during the autumn-  and winter months.

Now, this next one is somewhat new to me; a peeling gel. From what I understand a peeling gel is a very light exfoliant that is designed to remove dead skin cells on a much smaller scale than a scrub would. In other words; a peeling gel would probably be a good alternative if you want to peel your face more than once a week or if your skin is sensitive to harsh scrubs. The one I’ve included in my weekly routine is the Tonymoly Floria Brightening Peeling Gel.

And last but not least, the Black Sugar Mask Wash Off and the Rice Mask Wash Off, both from Skinfood. Both of these are great for temporarily fading hyper pigmentation and brightening the face in general. On days I want a more abrasive scrub I’ll use the Black Sugar Mask Wash off. If I want a less abrasive, more gentle scrub, I’ll use the Rice Mask Wash Off.

So there you have it! What do you guys think? Have you tried any of these?

My night time skin care routine!

Hey guys! 🙂
This post will be on my current night time skin care routine. Keep in mind that I’m always buying and trying new products, so my skin care regimen WILL evolve with time. This is just personally what works for me. I do like some of the products better than others. In other words; I’m still tweeking my night time routine, as I’m not completely happy with it and I know I can do better 😀

So let’s get to it!

Usually my first step will be cleansing my face with the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser, as I don’t wear make up every day. IF I’m wearing make up I start with TheFaceShop’s Rice Water Bright Cleansing Oil, to be sure to melt all the make up and gunk off my face before going in with the gel cleanser  ↓

Then it’s time for a toner. I use the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner  ↓

After this I apply my Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum  ↓

Then I slap on my COSRX Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence  ↓

The next step is my Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule  ↓

Next up would be a moisturizer. At the moment I’m using the Earth’s Recipe Moisture Bound Cream (which I did a first impression on)  ↓

As I’m moving towards the end of my night time routine, I apply my Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream  ↓

And last but not least; I slap on a sleeping pack. The one I use is the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. I don’t use it every night, probably twice a week ↓

And that, my friends, is my current night time skin care routine! Some of these products have been in my routine longer than others, so I’m still kind of in the middle of testing the “newcomers” out, and finding out what i like – or don’t like about them. I will be back with reviews on all of the products listed in this night time routine, one by one! Also, as mentioned before, I’m waiting for more newcomers to drop into my letter box, HO-HO-HO! Which means more products being put to the test, more reviews and possibly more tweeking 😀

These are all products I’ve had my eye on for at least a month, many of them for several months. There have been various reasons for not having purchased them yet, but there’s also a good reason behind everyone of them still being on my radar. Sometimes a product will be prioritized over another product at that perticular time. And sometimes you just already have enough of one product type sitting around. Nevertheless most of these will all get their chance to shine in my skin care routine at some point.

Stay tuned to find out which ones will be part of my next haul and why!
Have you tried any of these? 😀
