How’ve you been?
I’m finally home from vacation, and back on track with some K-beauty goodies!
So, we basically went on a Scandinavia tour, via car, so imagine my skin condition after long drives with the aircondition maxed, lordy, dryer than a dessert!
So I’ve been using a lot of sheet masks, and we’re back to basics!
While walking the streets of Copenhagen I stumbled upon a local Sephora, which we don’t have in Norway, and I know for a fact that they have an overpriced section with some K-beauty goodies, so of course, I bought some stuff!
Firstly the Tony Moly Panda’s Dream Special Kit, and I know, the eye stick has been featured on my “Rant of the week” a while back, but I really wanted the gel cream!
And since they only had the set I bought it. Did I mention that it was overpriced? Let’s just leave it at that. I’ve only tested it twice, because I of course ran out of my beloved Etude House Water Jelly Cream right before we headed home again. And I really like it, I did think that it would resemble the sleeping pack that I love, and I was not wrong! So I’ll post a first impression of it later, promises. The eye stick on the other hand has to find itself another home, any takers?
I also bought the Panda’s Dream Smudge Out Mascara, it was just standing there next to the registrer, calling my name!
And I love it, but holy balls, it’s one smudgy mess to wash off. We’re talking triple rounds with the current oil cleanser I’m using. Not sure if I should switch to a different oil cleanser or maybe just stop triple layering my mascara. We all know I’m not going to do either, because nothing beats that badass panda eyes look in the evening.
And last but not least, sheet masks!
I’ve heard many great things about Dr.Jart and figured it was about time I got on the hype train, the one I don’t trust but am to curious not to get on sometimes.
I haven’t tried any of them yet, but stuck to the trusted snail hydrogel mask from tony moly, this is one gem I stumbled upon the last time I was abroad and visited Sephora, that goddamn store, draining my wallet one visit at a time.
So yeah, that’s a little update from me, I also received the July Mishibox this week, so I’ll blog about that as well, because the content was awesome!
Have you tried any of these products?
Let me know!
Today I’ll be taking you through the products I’m waiting for at the moment. You’ve most likely heard of most of them as they’ve been mentioned in previous posts, but some of them were purchased today! I will also mention a product that I bought ages ago, and still haven’t recieved. So beware of some bitching, cause this chick is frustrated with a big F.
ANYWAY… let’s get to it ↓
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil I’m gonna be honest with you guys. I just purchased this Rose Hip Seed oil from The Ordinary, without giving it much thought. Usually I do my job when it comes to researching before buying, but now and again my brain seems to lose it’s ability of doing just that, resulting in the occasional spontaneous purchase! But in my defense, I didn’t buy this product on a complete whim either. Cause Mocka hasn’t stopped raving about it since she got her hands on it, and after I read her review, I was sold. Ka-ching!
The Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Deep Essence Now, this baby has been away from me for soo long now. We’re talking about a year! I purchased this product back in my early K-beauty days, and although I liked it, I wasn’t sure how effective it was. I guess I can’t remember what ultimately made me decide not to re-purchase it, but the other day i realised that I actually miss it. (Weird how that happens.) In other words; I’m giving it a second chance to blow my socks off, which also means that you can expect a review in the near future! Yay!
The Nature Republic Shine Blossom Blusher in the colour “Apricot”. Another newbie that I’m waiting for is this cream blush from Nature Republic, which is a brand I’ve known about for a long time, but haven’t gotten around to trying. I’m always interested in trying products from different brands, both popular, obscure, tried and not tried, so I’m really looking forward to this. And according to my calculations this baby should be just around the corner!
The Tonymoly The Fresh Phytoncide Pore Gel Cream Fresh Phytoncide Pore Gel Cream, you say? Who even are you? OH, THAT’S RIGHT! I ordered you AGES ago. Okay, to be fair, it’s not your fault that you haven’t arrived yet. But some person somewhere along the line during this prosess, messed up. I mean, let’s be honest. We have ships, planes, trains and quite possibly UFOs to make sure that sh*t arrives where it should, when it should. And I can accept human error. Things can happen. I can also accept that it takes a couple of weeks for products from Korea to arrive where I live, but not several months. No, just no. This product was lost on it’s way and it should have been sorted a long time ago. #Rantover But really, they can send me a new one now if they want, but not recieving a product when you needed it, kind of defeats the purpose of the whole thing, right? That’s like recieving your shot after you got ill. And it’s actually quite disoppointing. And sure, I’ve had a few products arrive on me weeks after their estimated date, but nothing like this.
Okay, moving onto something more pleasant! ↓
The Tosowoong ACNE Cleansing Foam Now, this one will definetely be a familiar face for you, if you’ve followed this blog for a while. I have mentioned it in several posts and raved about it in this one! The tube I have standing in my shower at the moment, is running really low and has been for a while now. But instead of re-purchasing it right away, I decided to broaden my horizon even further and went ahead and bought a cleanser from Sulwhasoo that I’ve wanted to try for a long time. And that’s where my beloved Tosowoong comes back into the picture. I just couldn’t bare the thought of hating the Sulwhasoo and not have a backup.
The Petitfèe Gold & Snail Hydrogel Eyepatches O.M.G. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’m looking forward to plastering a pair of these babies on my under eyes. I have tried their sister patches (Black Pearl & Gold) once before, and I loooooved them. I’m hoping that these ones are just as good, AT LEAST. And I’m praying that they arrive tomorrow! #Lastchancebeforetheweekend
If you want to read Mocka’s first impression on the Black Pear & Gold eye patches, you’re welcome!
The J.One Hana Cream Don’t even get me started on these precious little baby balls!? I just realised two things after having said that. 1) “Baby balls”? Well, that sounds a bit gross. 2) I can’t know if these (baby)balls are precious before I’ve tried them. But they look damn precious, okay?! And I want them. Now. On my face. But on the serious note: Have you ever seen a more fun way to apply moisturizer? I just saw these a few weeks ago and I had to buy them. I mean, who doesn’t want balls all over their face? I know I’m preaching about a product I haven’t tried yet, but I don’t care. I still think everyone should try slapping some balls on their face, at least once! That sh*t better arrive tomorrow.
“And remember; I always recommend taking a closer look at any new product before purchasing it, just in case you’re allergic or sensitive to one or more of the ingredients. Personally I always check before buying a new product, because I know my skin is of the extra vulnerable type, as I do have dehydrated combination skin with acne prone areas. You can find the ingredients, what they are and what they do at CosDna.” -Myself, lol
So there you have it; just a little update on the products I’m currently waiting for. Please let me know if you’ve tried any of these babies, and if you enjoy/ed them! And be sure to tune back in for first impressions and reviews on these babies in the near future!
So, Monday usually means Rant of the week, but guess what, I don’t have anything to rant about this week!
Well, if you read on after this, there will be hints of ranting, but not really!
Last week I promised you a full comparison between the long loved Laneige Sleeping Mask and the Tony Moly Panda’s Dream White Sleeping Pack, and today is the day! (or night, you should know I really am an owl that likes to stay up late and sniff my products, but don’t tell anybody, they might think I’m weird or something.)
(Picture borrowed from Vicky)
Name: Laneige Water Sleeping Mask Product: Sleeping pack Good for: Moisture, purifying fatigued skin, brightening Description: Recharge dehydrated skin overnight. This innovative mask is formulated with highly concentrated Hydro Ionized Mineral Water to deliver intense doses of moisture to stressed, parched skin. Price: 27$ (Jolse) Cosdna A sleeping pack that promises to have it all!
This I purchased because it had “amaze” written all over it, both on Reddit, Instagram, and based on what Vicky said about it, it just had to be a Godsend!
When I first used this I had already emptied my first panda, and was in desperate need for a new sleeping pack! Imagine my surprise when after using this I felt it to be exactly the same as the panda, only more pricey. Texture & Smell: It’s a cloudy gel with a blue hue, and has a wonderful and fresh smell, the kind of smell you just want to sniff really hard!
Name: TONYMOLY Panda’s Dream White Sleeping Pack Product: Sleeping pack Good for:Whitening, moisturizing, multi function sleeping pack Description:“Tonymoly Panda’s Dream White Sleeping Pack is a lightweight overnight whitening cream. It will help to even out skin tone, lighten dark spots, and effectively moisturize the skin. The gel formula quickly absorbs into the skin and doesn’t leave a sticky or greasy feeling. There is no need to worry about it transferring to your pillow and it is perfect for all skin types!” Price: 11$ (Jolse) Cosdna This I first bought when seeing it at Sephora in Poland, this was when I was totally fresh to AB and had heard of Tony Moly, of course the fact that it was shaped like a panda was the selling point, but I came to love this, and later ordered a new one from the interwebs! Texture & Smell: Fresh and a hint of flowery fruits, gel like, cloudy cream colored gel.
Remember that this is indeed a comparison, so there will be side by side pictures. I had to break out my emergency panda, you guys! That’s how dedicated I am!
As you can see they resemble each other. I dabbed on a little more of the blue hue dew, but you get the idea.
They both spread evenly, but I find the Panda easier and a bit lighter to spread, it’s not really noticeable unless you smear your face half n’ half, which I did, just to make sure that I really felt they where almost alike.
To me they look the same, if you look away from the color difference. I’m actually pretty sure that if they were to make a blind test with these two products, people wouldn’t notice any particular difference.
So what separates them?
Obviously price is the huge difference, there’s 16$ actually, if you’re counting.
Ingredients; Both contain the bad guys, Butylene Glycol & Dimethicone, which, is hard to get away from, these are typical ingredients that you will find in a wide range of products, they are marked as acne/irritants, but if you have skin like mine, it won’t give a damn!
What I like about the panda is that it actually has a lot of nice extracts, that (to me at least) doesn’t irritate, but the Laneige has a tendency to “last” longer on the skin and the packaging is more exclusive, but still cheap plastic.
Both act similar on the skin, they soak in nicely and give a good amount of moisture, and none of the above leave residue on the pillow covers, yay them!
Of course the skin is shiny at first, but when the skin eats it all up, it leaves a dewy finish. Yum!
So basically, they’re the same, but different. I like them both, but when it comes down to it, I will probably repurchase the panda, I get the desired effect for less than 50% of what the Laneige costs, how can I ignore that?
With that being said, it all comes down to which ingredients you consider your poison to be. We are all different, and prefer different things, my holy grails might even be your holy fails.
So maybe not a full on hate rant, but now you know what I feel about these moist full beings!
Have you tried any of these, and what are your thoughts on them?
Let me know!
We’re approaching May, which means it’s time to share what my silky smooth hands managed to empty during the course of April!
And by approaching I mean it’s already started, because I’m a bit slow and it’s already past midnight, three cheers for Miss Procrastinator!
I can’t say that I’ve emptied a whole lot, but I do have four items that are running low and will be gone before we hit the middle of the month, which means that the May post will be long and lovely!
Anyway, here’s what I finished and my thoughts about the products!
Pictured: Tonymoly Pokemon Sheet Mask Pack Isanghessi Green tea Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze; Green Tea, Shea Butter, Pomegranate Elizavecca Milky Piggy Silky Creamy Donkeysteam Cream Mask Pack Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream Tonymoly Panda’s Dream White Sleeping Pack
Innisfree is as you can tell a good representative this month, which totally makes sense considering I bought 15 sheet masks from the same line last month.
So how did I enjoy these products you ask?
Well, let me tell you, young padawan!
Tonymoly Panda’s Dream White Sleeping Pack:
Firstly, the sleeping pack I still adore, I have reviewed it and still stand by what I wrote, click here to read it. It’s light and nice, spreads evenly and you wake up with a smooth, plump face. What more can a girl ask for? Will I repurchase? Absolutely!
Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream: I don’t know where to begin with it, I think it does it’s job, doesn’t give me breakouts and contains one of my favourite ingredients; SNAAAAAILS. *insert snail emoticon x1000 here*
But how does one know if an eye cream works wonders? I haven’t noticed any amazeballs dramatical changes, but then again, I’ve been preoccupied with the rest of my face, so it works fine, not an eye opener when it comes to eye creams, nor the tube of doom that makes you see red. These eye puns are really killing me you guys! Will I repurchase? Probably, in the lack of the perfect eye cream this will do for now!
Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze; Green Tea, Shea Butter, Pomegranate: So, I just stuffed all these three together. I thought I’d give a detailed review when I’ve tried them all, but so far the Shea Butter is my favourite, it hydrates, doesn’t give off a weird scent and does it’s job!
The green tea one does the bare minimum, maybe it hydrates, who knows? But there’s no change in my skin after usage and it’s slimy like a toddler’s snot. Not for me.
The pomegranate, quite alright, would probably use this again when I’ve been playing around with too many products and need an immediate soothing mask. This shit good, yaaz.
Tonymoly Pokemon Sheet Mask Pack Isanghessi Green tea Yuck, do I really have to write about it?
It annoyed my skin more than words can describe. The essence dripped everywhere, and when I finally took it off, my neck and chest were covered in it. Didn’t really hit a homerun for me, but the packaging is cute. Repurchase? Nah.
Elizavecca Milky Piggy Silky Creamy Donkeysteam Cream Mask Pack I still love the ridiculously long name of this mask, but the content I could’ve probably lived happily without. Firstly the essence is a thick cream, the smell is quite a lot considering you’re stuck with it for 10-20 minutes, and there’s just a dash of donkey milk in it! WHAT? I paid good money for some sweet sweet YEE-HAW milk, and this is what I get? To be honest I have no idea if the milk is sweet, but it sounded better so.. Repurchase? I’d rather buy pure goat milk and pour it all over myself.
So that’s it for today!
What’s your empties this month?
I’ve just bought myself four new products, none of which I’ve tried before. Needless to say; I’m very excited and can’t wait to find them in my letter box! As you might be able to tell, I’m not very big on mega hauls. I prefer to shop for the products I want/need in smaller ammounts, and more frequent. Just how I like it!
Here are the products ↓
Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream: I bought this product because my current eye cream (Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream) is running very low, and I wanted to try a new one. I’m not unhappy with the Mizon, I’ve just heard great things about the Innisfree Orchic Eye Cream and I’ve been meaning to give that one a try for ages!
Scinic Honey All In One Ampoule: This is another Holy Grail product for many, and that’s why I bought it. It really is as simple as that! Just like the Orchid Eye Cream from Innisfree, I’ve only heard good things about this ampoule, so when I discovered that my current ampoule is nearly empty, I naturally threw the Scinic Honey All In One Ampoule in my basket and ran for the hills! Did I mention that according to CosDna this product has very few irritants?
Etude House Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream: I first heard about this product through Mocka, which (I think) read about it in a Holy Grail Thread on Reddit. I think… The Pure Water Baobad Moist Cream from Etude House is from what I understand a gel type cream. I already have enough of these, and I should really focus my energy on finding an actualy creamy cream that will get along with my skin. BUT I’ve heard great things about it, and CosDna says it’s a peach! In other words: I just have to try it!
The Saem Jeju Horse Oil Soothing Gel Cream: When it comes to this product in particular there’s really not too much to say at the moment. There’s no information about it on CosDna, and usually I wouldn’t buy a product that’s not listed on there. However, I read a few reviews on it and quite a few people seem to really like it! Yes, it’s another gel cream. BUT from what I understand, this product is a slightly heavier gel type cream. AND it’s not clear but white-ish, which could mean that this provides more moisture than the usual clear gel cream. There’s only one way to find out; I’m going to put it to the test!
I’m still waiting for a few packages I ordered a couple of weeks ago, but I have a feeling that at least one of them will arrive today or tomorrow! It’s past due! The product I’m taking about is Tonymoly’s The Fresh Phytoncide Pore Gel Cream ↓
When it comes to this product, I wasn’t completely sure if I needed it. As I mentioned before I already own enough gel creams. However, I know my skin really loves gel type creams as opposed to the more heavy, white, creamy creams, and the one I’ve been using as a day time moisturizer for ages now (the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Water Jelly Cream) just isn’t moisturizing enough. So that’s how I came to look for another alternative, and The Fresh Phytoncide Pore Gel Cream from Tonymoly had great reviews. Plus according to CosDna, this baby has NONE irritants or acne triggers. Of course you can never be sure with any product until you’ve tried it, but I do have high hopes for this bad boy!
The rest of the products are due very soon! I’m taking about the Etude House Curl Fix Long Lash Mascara, the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum, the Mamonde Happy & Smart Cleansing Tissues and the Skinfood Aloe Watery Sun Water Gel ↓
If you want to know why I purchased these products you can read about it in this post.
So there you have it! A little update on the products I’m expecting to arrive very soon, and the ones that will arrive in a couple of weeks! Stay tuned for first impressions and reviews of these products in the near future.
I promised yesterday to show you all my goodies, my AB-goodies that is!
I’ve been expecting several packages this week, and the first one that came was the one I ordered from Jolse, so kudos for fast shipping, I love it when it takes less that 10 days all the way up north!
So without further ado, here’s the lovelies I will be testing in near future:
Cleansers, YES, cleansers! I’ve already mentioned my feelings towards the Cosrx Good Morning Low PH cleanser, I don’t hate it, but I’m always in the market for a better one, sorry, not sorry!
Anyways, I ordered two new to test Cosrx Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Cleanser, because one should always have a secret exfoliating weapon for those days your skin wants to be squeaky clean! And I’m super excited to try it, because deep down in my unicorn soul I am indeed a Cosrx fangirl! Next I purchased the Missha Calendula Cleansing Foam for two simple reasons, It has calendula in it, which not only sounds sweet, but calendula is shown to not only promote skin healing and repairing, but also reduce inflammation, which makes it the perfect match for my combination/sensitive skin, seeing that my skin doesn’t act up like a bitchy teenager and rejects the product, it has happened before. And because the ingredient list isn’t terribly long, and there are none to few irritants in it, something that isn’t always easy to come by these days.
And lastly, I threw in some Tony Moly sheet masks, because I love sheet masks, who doesn’t?
Best part is that they’re cute, has Bulbasaur (Isanghessi) on them AND green tea, love love love!
One of these bad boys are being applied tonight!
So I didn’t exactly raid the store, but I secured myself some goodies to try, what surprised me the most was the amount of freebies, we’re talking a lot!
And do you see what I see? Samples of the new Cosrx PHA moisture renewal power cream, I have high hopes for this bad boy, and I’m definitely testing the samples!
So that’s my little post coming to an end, there’ll probably be more of this in the near future seeing as I’ve been good at mini hauling lately. So bear with me on this, I’ll be charming and fun in between these segments, promise ❤
It’s Monday, and it’s time for another rant of the week!
This week’s victim of the hard truth actually came as a surprise for me, seeing as this collection carries one of my favorite items I can’t help wondering “how the hell did you screw this one up?”
I’m talking about TonyMoly’s Panda’s Dream So Cool Eye Stick, cool dream my ass. I really had a good thing going with the panda products until this bad bamboo eating s.o.b came along, and what a shame!
Anyway, let’s get down to the cool hard facts!
Name: TonyMoly’s Panda’s Dream So Cool Eye Stick Product: Serum in stick form Good For: Tony Moly Panda’s Dream So Cool Eye Stick is a portable eye serum in a stick that moisturizes and cools the delicate skin around the eyes as it smoothes the appearance of fine lines. Instantly cool and de-puff tired eyes while minimizing the appearance of fine lines with this multitasking eye stick. Infused with nourishing and hydrating bamboo extracts, this serum cools and soothes skin around the delicate eye area while it hydrates. Price: 6-8$ (Amazon, Ebay, Bbcosmetic) CosDna
So this sweetness was supposed to not only be cute, but also help my eyes pop and work it’s bamboo enriched magic.
But this bamboo loving relationship didn’t last long!
This one I purchased at the same time I got the sleeping pack, and one could say I was over the moon to have found K-beauty products that looked this adorable!
I didn’t try the eye stick right away, I was saving it, admiring it from afar as I slowly and steadily emptied the sleeping pack, because who has the heart to empty two panda products at the same time? And it wasn’t until I started running out of the current eye cream I love that I thought I’d give the panda a go. Oh, the mistake I made there. At first it was all peachy and fine, I incorporated it into my nighttime routine, seeing as my skin gets all it’s work done after midnight. And it was all going very well the first couple of nights, note, at this time I was still juggling around with some newer components in my routine, so it wasn’t really set in stone.
But after three nights I started noticing little white dots, and me being fairly familiar with whiteheads didn’t really give it much thought, until the morning after when it became very clear that the new shit that had appeared on my face was definitely not whiteheads. I had managed to get me some milia, yay me!
So I obviously had to remove the toxic mofo that was causing this, but silly me trying more than one product at a time didn’t really know which one of them was causing the problem.
But sure, after some reasoning it couldn’t be anyone else but the panda that had betrayed me and my chubby cheeks!
Oh, the butt hurt when I realized it, whyyyy, panda, whyyy?
On one hand it really annoys me that I can’t have both cute and effective, on the other it amuses me that my new sworn enemy is basically in the same family as my panda sweetheart.
So the love still lives on for panda, just not this bastard!
So overall? This is obviously not for me, an eye stick that leaves you screaming and shouting on the floor in an awkward upside down snail position is not worth my time, or a regular spot in my skin care routine.
Surprise surprise, this won’t make my top 5 list when it comes to stuffs I love, as for the effects it claims to have, naaaah, gurl, u be trippin.
I felt nothing but sadness in my toes after being face bullied by this stick. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but this just did a number on my face. Basically, from me it’s a big fat hydrated no, but it might do wonders for others, who knows?
If you’ve had experience with this product I would love to know, good, bad or straight up ugly?
I want it all!
That’s a wrap!
Tomorrow there will be unboxing, because panda mama’s mailbox just got fed!
