Review; May Coop Raw Sauce

Hiya Darlings!

I know, this review was due yesterday, but when one lives on the countryside and there’s lightning and thunder, the internett has this funny way of saying “Nope, nothing to do here!” Which results in one helpless k-beautyblogger, to make a semi long story short.
Anyway! Thank you for your patience, let’s just dive right in to this saucy flower power wonder!

So, Jolse was so kind as to pick me as one of their 40 peeps to review this product, which makes me one lucky motherducker, seeing as I’ve been eyeballing this product pretty hard for a long time, but never really wanted to spend a lot of money on a product I was on the fence about, and I have to say, well worth the wait, and I’m kinda sorry I didn’t get it myself, so if you’re on the fence about it yourself, read on!
Anyway, I’ve tested this awesome facesauce, so I’ll just go on and tell you about it!

Name: May Coop Raw Sauce
Product: Toner, Emulsion and Essence ( A triple threat right here)
Good For: Providing moisture, protecting skin against free radicals.
Description:
The size of Acer maple water compound particles is similar to that of the human body fluid, which makes it easy for the sauce to smear deeply into the skin.
Natural fructose in Acer maple water, called ‘MSE’ by MAY COOP, prevents moisture evaporation like glycerin.
Fructan powder provides vitalizing nutrition to the skin, Nature701 Complex moisturizes the skin with various effects, and Organic G Complex strengthens the tired skin with stability. (Description from Jolse)
Price: 28$

Packaging:
It’s clean, and very well executed, just like the moisturizer I’ve tried before from May Coop you get the feeling that they want the product to speak for itself, simple lines and natural. I really like the fact that the bottle is made of glass, just to make it a tad bit more exclusive, with that being said, I’m not sure how travel friendly a long glass bottle is when it comes to traveling.
The classic box it comes in that has this wood pattern on it is funny considering that it’s 93% acer maple tree sap in this bad boy. Or maybe I just find it funny. A good sense of humor never was my strong suit.

img_1769
Texture & Smell:
Is it a essence, is it a toner, is it an emulsion? No, It’s sauce!
The way I would describe it is as a thick toner, and a perfect essence/emulsion hybrid, but we’ll just go with sauce, much easier.
It spreads nice and evenly, like a sauce should!

img_1770

First time I tapped out some magic from the bottle I had this immediate fear that it was gonna be a sticky smelly mess, but then again, we all love a good surprise!
It’s a bit tacky before it soaks in, but what do you expect when dealing with raw sauce?

It’s a bit on the slow side when finding it’s way deep down to your skin, but it’s worth the wait, I usually just slap it on, do a little jiggle wiggle dance and fix my hair while waiting for it to do it’s thing.
Again, a bit on the sticky side, but considering it’s not the last step of the skincare routine, it’s really not that big of a deal.
Scent wise I have to say, it’s something to get used to, It’s not one of my favorite scents, basically because I feel that my nose is being held hostage in a field of flowers, and there’s no way to escape. But if you’re into flowery scents, then this will probably be your new favourite to sniff.

Application:
Cleanse-Tone-Slap some sauce on!
Yeah I know, keeping it simple over here. I just apply it with my hands, I find it more manageable to control the amount of product this way, and disperse it evenly, but if you prefer, cotton pads will also work wonders!

My thoughts on this product?

I have to say, the first week I didn’t like it what so ever, the scent was so overbearing I just could not for the love of me enjoy the skin benefits it provided, because trust me, this sauce is golden. It really does the job when it comes to hydration, and gives the skin a dewy look. As for the whole protecting from the scary superbad damaging free-radicals I have no clue, haven’t really talked to them that much, so yeah.
But for me, this is one sweet sauce I’m not gonna burn while stirring!

Hopefully this will have given you some insight on this, so I’ll just move along to my favourite part of these posts. Yes darlings, you guessed it, it’s rating time!

Double Trouble; A review of both the Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum and the Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop!

Yay, a double review!

Hello Darlings, long time no see right?
I know, and since I’m almost sorry, I’ll make it up to you with a double review! I’m a little bit sorry, but you know, summer happened, and the sun, being an utter rarity here in Norway, made me a bit ditsy and forgetful one might say.

Anyway!  Let’s get down and squeaky clean with the info on these lovely supple treats!
img_1253.jpg

Name: Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop
Product: Vitamin Serum
Good for: Maintain and revitalize the skin
Description: Burst of energy for the skin, Vitamin C A non-irritant vitamin serum that rejuvenates the skin. (Curtesy of Wishtrend’s website)
Price: 24$ (Ebay)

So basically I’m going to make it simple today. The reason you’re all getting the pleasure of a double review is because I use these two as a power couple. I find the Vitamin drops to be a bit too heavy on the oily side when used alone, but together they really do the trick!
So let’s just get down to it!

Packaging:
Both these products come in nice subtle containers, leaving the focus to be on what’s actually inside the them, which is what it should be like!
Both bottles are plastic fantastic, so they’re actually very travel friendly, trust me, I’ve tested it out a couple of times this summer, serum bottle road trip! Or not.
The Vitamin drops comes with, yes omg, you guessed it, a dropper! Making it easy to plop out the exact amount you need!
The Soothing Serum has a nifty little pump, where a squeeze and a half should do the trick, plus points for easy peasy packaging.

Texture & Smell:
img_1255.jpg
Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum: This is just divine, the scent is a faint citrusy kind that just cuddles your nose and reminds you of summer, for me at least, it’s like a half runny gel, and spreads on evenly and effortlessly, which is nice when you’re a big fan of effortless delicious moisture.
img_1256.jpg
Again, super easy to spread, and it doesn’t take a whole eternity before it sinks into your face.
img_1257
Look at this! Delicious, and of course, even better when applied on a face, screaming for moisture and plumpness!

So! Let’s move on to some vitamin infused oiliness!

img_1258.jpg
Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop: It doesn’t really smell that much, it has a hint of clean, if that makes sense? But hey, as long as it doesn’t give off a scent wanting you to dispose of your afternoon snack, I’m all on board!
img_1259.jpg
This one is a bit runny, so I’d recommend applying it either fast by dripping it directly on your face while staring at the roof and rub it around like a super speedy goddess, or just mix it in with a serum of your liking, makes for a much easier application!
It takes a bit to sink in, and dries a bit oily, which I really don’t like.
img_1262.jpg
I have a theory that when winter time comes around it will be a bit more manageable, but believe me, at this time of year I don’t sweat. I oil. Literally. And who on this rainbow blessed, unicorn loving earth would want to be extra oily? Not moi.

But then again, since it’s not the last step of a routine, you’ll easily cover up the feeling of being a walking oil-diva.

Application:
Cleanse, tone, serum-time! If you’re unsure where to put this in your routine, follow the thinnest to thickest in consistency rule!
img_1254
As mentioned earlier, these two mix very well, at least in my opinion, and when you find a way that works for you, stick to it!
I first tried them separately, and that just made me love the serum, and hate the vitamin drop, so obviously I had to give them both a go together!
The Soothing Serum has really helped for the problem I initially purchased it for, that being irritated and sensitive skin, and of course, some good old fashioned super moisture!

My thoughts on these products?

So if you’ve read this far, and really don’t know what I feel about the product, I can reassure you and say that I’m about to start my third bottle. That’s commitment to a product right there.
When the whole moisture barrier case was starting to improve I introduced the vitamin drop to the routine, it didn’t last more than a week on it’s own, because I couldn’t quite get over the oil madness going on.
But! A K-beauty adventurer never gives up, and I tried mixing it in with other products, first the moisturizer I was using, boy was that nasty. And finally, the Soothing Serum, they were like a match made in heaven, I mean, who wouldn’t want a super duo hydrating and maintaining your face?

So ever since, they’ve been unseperable and they’re still in my daily nighttime routine, the soothing serum gets to be in my morning routine as well, but I personally prefer to only do Vit C when the sun has set, and there’s no danger of getting skin damage caused by the sun and Vitamin C, I’ve heard they don’t get along too well.

Hopefully this will have given you some insight to these products, so I’ll just move along to my favourite part of these posts. Yes darlings, you guessed it, it’s rating time!

A bunch of first impressions, part two

Hey everyone!

So the previous post revolved around three products and my thoughts on them so far. And now I think it’s time to talk about the other half, as promised. You guessed it! This is part two (“also known as the other half”)!

Let’s get started!

First up is the Starting Treatment Essence (Rose Edition) from Secret Key   ↓

When I first tried this product I wasn’t really sure what to expect, because I’ve never owned a starting treatment essence before! Naturally I was a little unsure about how to use it “correctly”, or at least the best way. So I did some research and found out that it’s completely fine to use products with the words “starting” or “first” in their names, as toners. However, that’s not how I decided to do things! As you already may know, there are different ways when it comes to applying toners and such. For example, there’s the 3-skin method and the 7-skin method. And because I already had the Grean Tea Fresh Toner from Isntree on hand, which I also am testing, I thought it would be a good idea to layer the Starting Treatment Essence on top of it, twice.  Because, why not, right? After all, three good layers are better than one! #3-skin-method

20180602_173215

So, back to my initial thoughts on the Starting Treatment Essence, and how it’s been going since then! At first I found this product slightly impractical because it’s very runny. In other words; applying it to my face was a rather awkward process. Using a cotton pad would definetely be a lot easier, but it would also waste a lot of product, so I decided to stick to using my hands. And once I got the hang of it, I really didn’t see a problem. In fact, I really like the Starting Treatment Essence! It feels sooo luxurious when you spread it on the face and pat it in. It also feels a bit hydrating and cooling, and VERY refreshing! This product leaves my skin feeling soft, supple and just nice all around. Oh, and don’t get me started on the galactomyces in this thing! I can tell that it’s evening out my skin tone and makes it look more healthy and vibrant!

Moving on to the Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop from Klairs   ↓

I decided to give this product a go when I was looking for a new serum to try and just couldn’t seem to find the perfect one. Don’t get me wrong, I knew this serum wouldn’t cater to all of my needs either, however, a few things about it intrigued me. Firstly, the product itself is a beautiful shade of blue! And who wouldn’t want to try a blue serum, am I right?! And secondly, this serum is geared towards anti-aging. Although I have zero wrinkles and almost no fine lines, I am still turning 25 this year. And that is commonly considered the age when you should start taking some preventive measures. So I thought I’d start off with the Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop! I may not need anti-aging skin care products yet, but seriously, I’m all about prevention. And discovering – and getting to know the different options out there, is never a bad idea!

20180530_011140

Anyway, let’s rewind back to the first time I tried the Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop! Just like the Starting Treatment Essence from Secret Key, I was a little (quite!) frustrated to find out how thin and runny this product is. It really wasn’t – and still isn’t easy to apply it to my face without spilling or dripping. When you’re using the dropper applicator to drip this serum on your face, you better move fast! Because this stuff will race down your jaw, chin or wherever it’s going and continue going South unless you catch it! And because of this, and the fact that the product comes in a rather small bottle with a dropper, it reminds me more of an ampoule than a serum. Also, I feel like I have to use more than a drop here and there to cover my face sufficiantly. However, if you set the inconveniance of the application and the ammount of product aside, I do like the product itself. But not as a stand alone serum, only as a layer under something thicker. If you’re looking for a serum with anti-aging properties, and that’s the only concern you have, you might enjoy this product! But for me, a person with other issues aswell, for example dehydration, the Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop just isn’t enough in itself.

And last but not least we’re talking about the Kale-Lalu-yAHA from Krave   ↓

This is actually my very first exfoliating treatment, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect from it! Of course I’ve exfoliated my face many times before, but that was using either a peeling gel or a more abrasive physical scrub. The Kale-Lalu-yAHA being a chemical exfoliator, is different to the others I mentioned. A chemical exfoliator will often contain ingredients that enables it to multitask. So instead of just breaking down – and removing the dead skin on your face, they can also help reduce wrinkles, brighten, help fade that stubborn hyperpigmentation and so on!

20180530_011001

When I first tried the Kale-Lalu-yAHA the first thing I noticed was the scent, which reminded me of puke. But don’t worry! I don’t mean like full-on-real-talk-shit-puke, but a watered down version, maybe like 5 % puke? ANYWAY, enough about puke, because the scent does go away after a little while, and I only really noticed it the first couple of times I used it.

Now, let’s add a few more details! I usually don’t get a whole lot of breakouts anymore, but at the time of my first meeting with the Kale-Lalu-yAHA, I had quite a few on my forhead, and they had stayed put for about two weeks. When my skin actually breaks out, it’s very seldom in that specific area. I usually get them on my chin and/or around my jaws and cheeks. So this forhead situation was very unusual for me, to say the least!

Okay, it’s time to get to the point! So I just about soaked a cotton pad in Kale-Lalu-yAHA and swiped it across my face a couple of times, and it tingled a bit. It wasn’t painful or anything, but there definetely was a mild tingling sensation! After that, I completed my skin care night time routine and went to bed (lol, like 4 hours later)! When I woke up next morning I noticed that my forhead looked quite a bit better than the night before, and my skin in general felt indeed clean, soft and exfoliated! Just in case this was a coincidence, I kept a close eye on the affected area every day and night for a while. And I was amazed to notice that every time I woke up after a hot and heavy night with the Kale-Lalu-yAHA, my face had cleared up even more than the last time! I would take one look at my forhead and find that the zits had literally shrunk. In other words; so far, so damn good! I am really impressed with this product’s skin clearing abilities and the nice exfoliation it provides! Result!

20180519_181601

There you have it; part two of “A bunch of first impressions”. But fear not! There are a lot more skin care products waiting in line, so you can expect a part three and four, at least. That’s it for tonight! As usual, I hope you enjoyed this post. Hopefully it was a bit interesting and somewhat educational. Have a great day or night wherever you are in the world, and stay tuned for more first impressions etc!

Disclaimer:
“Remember that we all have different skin types and concerns, and that you might react differently to these products compared to what I did. Maybe your experience will be better than mine, maybe it will be worse. It’s all about finding the skin care products best suited to your skin type, concerns and issues. Reading reviews can also be very helpful when you’re deciding which products to buy. And finally, it’s always a good idea to look up a product at CosDna before purchasing. Sometimes a product turns out to be a little (or very) different to what you expected, and there’s little you can do about it after you’ve opened it. But you CAN check which ingredients are in the product, what they are, what they do, and if they’re listed as an irritant or acne trigger. Good luck!”

A bunch of first impressions, part one

Hello everyone!

About two weeks ago I recieved a bunch of skin care products. And as you might already know, every product normally gets a first impression post dedicated to it, followed by a full review post a couple of weeks later. However, today’s post will be slightly different! Perhaps you’ve noticed that the promised first impressions haven’t been posted? Yep, I’m afraid so. I just haven’t gotten around to it yet, but fear not! Today’s post (part 1) will revolve around half of the products. I will shortly touch on what I initially thought as I tried them for the first time. Also, I’ll let you know how the products are doing so far. Keep in mind that I won’t go into too much detail, just my thoughts so far. After all, the full reviews will include everything! Enjoy!

So let’s start off with the Zero Sebum Fresh Gel Cream from Etude House   ↓

I wanted to talk about this product first is because I’ve owned it the longest. Yes, you heard me. I actually recieved it about a month ago, but I chose to include it in this post since I haven’t talked about it on the blog yet. In fact I probably could have written a full review on it, but I’ll wait until it’s empty (which is very soon)!

20180602_173153

The first time I tried the Zero Sebum Fresh Gel Cream I really liked it. It smelled soooo good. I would describe the scent as clean and fresh. I also noticed how little effort it took to apply- and spread it, thanks to the light consistency. Oh, and it acts nice and cooling on the skin. And while all of this is still true, my view on the Zero Sebum Fresh Gel Cream has changed quite a bit. Not only is this moisturizer less suited to my skin, it’s completely wrong for it. It just isn’t moisturizing enough for my dehydrated combo skin. And I really should have realised this before I bought it, and um well, not have bought it at all. Why? Because it’s just another gel cream. And I am yet to find a gel cream that will give me what I need. In other words; there won’t be any more gel based moisturizers for this girl! However, I think someone with oily skin might really enjoy this product.

Moving on to the Green Tea Fresh Toner from Isntree   ↓

I had high hopes for this product. In fact, my expectations were sky high. Not only did the ingredient list impress me with its promising components, but it was SHORT. We’re talking under twenty ingredients, and in my book that is a very good thing! The main ingredient is green tea, which is full of antioxidants and known for its nourishing abilities. So the Green Tea Fresh Toner is a very clean, pure and natural skin care product. It’s also vegan, yay!

20180602_173241

This toner could be great for normal skin types or anyone who’s looking for a nourishing product, or wants to start introducing products with anti-aging benefits into their routine. However, for me personally, it’s not nearly hydrating enough. But keep in mind that my skin is dehydrated AF! Having said that, I really like the idea of a clean, natural and nourishing product, so I’m going to continue using it for its great benefits, just not on it’s own. For me, the Green Tea Fresh Toner will work better as a thinner layer under a more hydrating toner. So if you’re looking for candidates for a 3 – or 7 skin method, this toner could be a good choice! In other words; this product could be great for people who don’t have dry or/and dehydrated skin. So if your skin type is normal or oily, the Green Tea Fresh Toner may be good for you!

And last but not least, the Caffeine Solution 5% EGCG from The Ordinary  ↓

I suppose you could refer to this product as an eye serum? At least that’s what I’ll call it for now. When it comes to my eye area, I’m not really struggling with fine lines, wrinkles, bags or puffiness. However, I decided a while back that I still wanted to treat the skin around my eyes to some extra pampering. After all, prevention is key! Also, I still haven’t found the perfect eye cream, so why not add an eye serum meanwhile, right?

20180602_171208

So far I’m really liking The Ordinary’s Caffeine Solution 5% EGCG! I’m not sure how to explain it best, but It’s like I can feel it working, or at least doing something. And I think that “something” is a good something. Of course it’s still early days, so I’ll have to wait and see, but I can already tell that my eye area is liking it! It just drinks it all up (and I apply quite a bit) and leaves it soft and way less dry! But only time will tell if there’s any long-term effects in this little bottle   🙂

Disclaimer:

So that’s it for today! I hope you learned something new or at least enjoyed this post a teeny weeny bit. Happy skin care hunting (if that’s what you’re doing)! And if you’re just chilling, I hope you have a great day. PS: If you have any tips or tricks you’d like to share with me, feel free to do so! Oh, and stay tuned for part two.

First impression; May Coop Raw Moisturizer

Hiya darlings!

Yes, you’re reading this correctly, we’re back, better, cooler, and super hungry for new awesome skincare products!

And as usual, we’ll be sharing all the details with you!

So today I’m gonna give you all the first impression on this raw little gem that’s gonna hydrate my dry ass skin! (At least that’s what we’re aiming for, am I right?)

Doesn’t it look pretty? So organic and fetch! (Yeah, I know, fetch will never happen, but it was worth a try!) Anyway, here are the facts!

Name: May Coop Raw Moisturizer
Product: Moisturizer
Good for: Hydrating, basically.
Description: The Raw Moisturizer is a unique formula moisturizer that contains a powerful combination of 70% maple tree sap, aloe, baobab tree and cactus extracts that easily absorb into the skin. Leaves skin feeling deeply hydrated and smooth. Perfect for all skin types. (Borrowed the info from Peach & Lily.)
Price: 40$
CosDna

img_0486-1
This is just adorable, again! Sleek and clean package design that just lures you in, thinking that the product is cleaner than a baby’s freshly wiped buttocks. (Yes, I just typed that.)
I must admit that I didn’t think to research this as much as I should have when I purchased it, and if you’re wondering why I’m even mentioning it, just check the Cosdna. Facts are always hard to swallow when you’ve been shopping at late hours!
Anyway! Let’s talk about the looks of this gem!

Packaging:
It comes in a box looking like wood, and one can tell that there is a “red line” in the packaging from start to finish. You open this little box, and inside, a bagged little thing awaits you. And after a little head scratch and a giggle you untangle the bag and find a beautiful jar, packed with skin-goodness!

It’s just a beauty, and the fact that this is loaded with maple sap, or water if you want to, really reflects in the “wood” packaging. Pretty cool right?
The container itself is made of frosted glass, is a neat size, and has a plastic wooden lid, so this gem, would probably suit most of us as a traveling companion!
(I know for a fact that I’m gonna have it with me this summer holiday, so I’ll make sure to shake the suitcase twice, and give you all a very detailed summary of how it held up compared to my other products, traveling and skin-wise!)

Texture & Smell:
You guys, this thing just smells goodness, and peace and love and everything nice!
The scent isn’t overbearing, it doesn’t just come at you, guns blazin’, and tackle your nose
into a flower frenzy! It’s pleasant, and makes you want to rub it all over your face.
In my opinion it’s subtle, yet sweet and lovable, just like those little sweet porcelain figurines your aunt Margie had when you were a kid. Until then you were told horror stories around the campfire, and from then on had sleep with one eye open, when spending the night at that cunt’s house. Cuz them figurines can’t be trusted.
Anyway, let’s just get this train back on track!
The texture of this hydration bomb is similar to others, it’s creamy and nice, but not too heavy. It has a light cloudiness to it, so it doesn’t look as intimidating as a full on “this is gonna make your face rage” face cream. Which is nice.

It soaks up really fast compared to what I had in mind, and leaves you with a smooth looking patch of skin.
What I do like about it, is that it gives you just a hint of matte-ness when dried down, I really can’t stand those creams that make you so oily that cars would crash when you walk past, because you’re so friggin shiny and blinding. We’ll leave that job to highlighters and makeup.

img_0491

Anyways!
So far I’ve only gotten to test it for a couple of days, and so far so good, but anyone who’s been reading our blog for a while knows that my skin has a tendency to be one devious little motherbleeper, so fingers crossed that this is a match made in the forrest where they harvested the maple sap. Or heaven. Whichever floats yer boat.
I’ll be back with a full on review on this maple syrup, or sap, or moisturizer when it’s properly sniffed, rubbed, tubbed, loved, and all the other things one could possibly do to a face cream. Maybe it’s safe to eat? Or just.. no.

Remember, what works for me, might not work for you, YMMV.
So I’d recommend always taking a closer look at the product before purchasing. Unless you’re like me, weak for pretty packaging and cute names.
But for clarification, that almost never works out, my skin likes nice ingredients, and doesn’t really care about pink & shiny.

Have you tried this product?
Let us know!

The K-beauty adventurers are officially resurrected!

Hiya Darlings!
Long time no see, right? I knoooow!

So, sometimes life happens, like smashes you in the face with seven bats and a weirdly shaped vase only your great grandmother would appreciate. And then you sort of don’t have the time or energy to blog. I didn’t get hit by a vase or anything, just painting a picture here, you guys.
But then! Something magical happens. Spring arrives, you start eating your veggies, getting them vitamins and such, and life is great. In other words, we’re back! *Insert hearts and happy unicorns here*

The biggest game changer so far!

Hello everybody!

So, i know it’s been quite some time since you heard from me, and for that I’m sorry. I’ve been meaning to post for a while now, but sometimes life and health just won’t cooperate (something that’s been happening quite a bit lately). Hopefully things are starting to turn around, resulting in the blog being back to normal. That’s what I’m aiming for at least, and I have quite a few things I want to write about! So without further ado, let’s start with a product that literally has CHANGED my skin game like no other. I’m talking about the 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil from The Ordinary!

I’ve already talked about this product here, and Mocka has reviewed it here, but this oil is a total amazefest so I decided that it deserved another post! And here we are. If you read my last post about the Rose Hip Seed Oil, you may remember that I really enjoyed using it every night and that I believed it to keep my troubled skin in check. However, I wasn’t 100% sure, because it does take a couple of weeks for a product to show it’s true colours.

This is an oil that is supposed to have skin clearing properties, amongst other things, and boy is that true! I can say, hand on heart, that this product has been the biggest game changer for me, so far. And I f*ckin’ love it. Sure, I’ve noticed small improvements after using other skin care products aswell, and my skin is better now than it was a year ago, even without the Rose Hip Seed Oil. But hot damn! After I introduced this oil to my skin and let it work it’s magic for a few weeks, my skin looks amazing compared to what it used to. And no, it’s still not perfect, but it’s pretty damn close! And I’m never going to stop using it.

The way I apply this oily delight to my skin, is first mixing it with Skinfood’s Tea Tree Clearing Emulsion on my hand, then spread the “mixture” on my face. It works wonders! But you can also mix it with other products or just apply it on it’s own. Just make sure you apply the oil after you’re done applying your water-based products. This also means that the oil won’t nesicarily blend well with all products, if you choose to mix it like I do. You kinda just have to find out through some good old trial and error! Good luck, it’s totally worth it 😀

It’s also worth mentioning that The Ordinary actually isn’t a Korean brand BUT other than being a very effective product, it’s also natural, organic, nourishing and super cheap! Oh, and it will last you a long time.

This post probably sounds very “sponsored” by now, but I promise you, it’s not. I’m just a regular skin care junkie that has discovered a truly amazing product that I love and will from now on never be without. And I just wanted to share the news with you, so it hopefully can help others with awkward skin 🙂

That’s it for now!

Until next time,
Vicky

Don’t lead me in to temptation, I can find it myself, thank you very much.

Hiya Darlings!
Missed me?

For once the weather up north has been summer-ish, so I’ve spent far too much time trying to get tanned when I should in fact realize that I’m a lobster-girl. Forever red, never sunkissed.
But! I haven’t forgotten you, even if you’ve forgotten me!
So today I thought I’d share a little something something, which basically means that I broke my no-buy, for the what, 19283959th time? And just HAD to get some things!
So this is what I’m currently longing to get my peach smelling impatient little hands on!

Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum
This.. Where to begin? Vicky has raved about this since the beginning of time, so first I ordered a pack of 20 samples, used them, didn’t really feel overly enthusiastic about it, until I ran out. I actually started missing the serum from my routine, and seeing as my beloved peach serum  seems to be discontinued, I have to find something else to love, I’m thinking this will do until I find my HG/Love of my life serum.

Missha All Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk

To be honest, this is just a repurchase of the sunscreen close to my heart.
I’m THIS close to running out, and unless I want to act like a weird emo vampire, this better arrive soon! I have a backup from Tosowoong, but nobody can really compete with this lovely milk, that not only protects my skin, but also makes for a kick ass primer!

Well, what can I say?
I fell head first for one of the Jolse Cosrx deals, and bought this, the gel cleanser I’ve tried before, but not the not so infamous moisture lotion with birch sap, but I know it’s raved about, and if I’m not mistaken it’s not a heavy moisturizer, which makes it a good companion in the summertime, so this I’m actually excited to try out!

And then, this one!

Basically I’m planning a trip in the beginning of September which might include sunbathing, and seeing as I’m an impatient lobsterprone person, I figured I should travel prepared, and what better way to treat sunburn than some aloe goodness? And have you seen that container? It’s adorable!
So yeah, it might not be all new shiny products, but some good old friends of mine, or my skin, all depending on how you see it!

Anyway, have you tried any of these products?

Let me know!

Peace&Love

An ever so little reunion!

Hello everyone!

Today’s post will be about a product that I recieved the other day, after purchasing it a second time. I’m talking about the Moisture Bound Cream from Earth’s Recipe! Now, if you’ve followed our blog since pretty much the beginning (as it was one of our first posts), you might remember that I had a fling with this product a few months ago. But after I had emptied the jar, I moved on to another, and then another, and another, hoping that I’d come across an even better moisturizer. Turns out that I didn’t and I still haven’t. In other words; we’re back on the Earth’s Recipe Moisture Bound Cream! Stay tuned if you want to know how I’m getting along with this little gem this time around, and if you’re interested in my review on the product, you’ll find it here.

So it’s been three months since I reviewed the Moisture Bound Cream from Earth’s Recipe, and my thoughts on the product have changed a bit since then. Last time around I thought was pretty good, but now that I’ve switched up pretty much my whole skin care routine, and changed the way I use some of the products, I can tell that this product is even better than I thought. And here’s why:
The products I use before I apply the Moisture Bound Cream are better suited for my skin, and really gives it a chance to shine by providing a better canvas to work on, than before. A good moisturizer is meant to trap hydration inside the skin, making sure that it doesn’t get back out, leaving the skin dehydrated. But in order to do so sufficiantly, there has to be a certain ammount of hydration in the skin to begin with, something I failed to make sure of for a long time, including the period when I was using the Moisture Bound Cream. Since then I’ve thrown out quite a few products that simply were wrong for my skin, and replaced them with more hydrating products. And let me tell you, there is a world of difference. We’re not completely there yet, but we’re definetely getting somewhere! Hydrating products are such a game changer, at least for me. I’ve tried soo many different moisturizers, and I know from experience that you can apply the best moisturizing cream in the world, and it won’t be able to properly do it’s job of moisturizing unless you provide your skin with moisture beforehand.

I’ll be using the Moisture Bound Cream at least until this jar is empty, and hopefully I’ll have a newfound love for it and purchase it again. If you want to know how it goes, stay tuned and I’ll update you in a couple of weeks! I’m also planning to do a post on my updated skin care routine in the near future 🙂

Until next time,
Vicky  ❤
