For once the weather up north has been summer-ish, so I’ve spent far too much time trying to get tanned when I should in fact realize that I’m a lobster-girl. Forever red, never sunkissed. But! I haven’t forgotten you, even if you’ve forgotten me!
So today I thought I’d share a little something something, which basically means that I broke my no-buy, for the what, 19283959th time? And just HAD to get some things!
So this is what I’m currently longing to get my peach smelling impatient little hands on!
Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum
This.. Where to begin? Vicky has raved about this since the beginning of time, so first I ordered a pack of 20 samples, used them, didn’t really feel overly enthusiastic about it, until I ran out. I actually started missing the serum from my routine, and seeing as my beloved peach serum seems to be discontinued, I have to find something else to love, I’m thinking this will do until I find my HG/Love of my life serum.
Missha All Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk
To be honest, this is just a repurchase of the sunscreen close to my heart.
I’m THIS close to running out, and unless I want to act like a weird emo vampire, this better arrive soon! I have a backup from Tosowoong, but nobody can really compete with this lovely milk, that not only protects my skin, but also makes for a kick ass primer!
Well, what can I say?
I fell head first for one of the Jolse Cosrx deals, and bought this, the gel cleanser I’ve tried before, but not the not so infamous moisture lotion with birch sap, but I know it’s raved about, and if I’m not mistaken it’s not a heavy moisturizer, which makes it a good companion in the summertime, so this I’m actually excited to try out!
And then, this one!
Basically I’m planning a trip in the beginning of September which might include sunbathing, and seeing as I’m an impatient lobsterprone person, I figured I should travel prepared, and what better way to treat sunburn than some aloe goodness? And have you seen that container? It’s adorable!
So yeah, it might not be all new shiny products, but some good old friends of mine, or my skin, all depending on how you see it!
As I mentioned in my previous post the Mishibox for July arrived in my mailbox this week, and I’ve already tried one of the products inside! And I loved it, just FYI.

So many goodies! So yes, a lot of masks in this one, well, not a lot, but two face masks and a foot mask? Whoever packs this box wants us to stay glowy and hydrated in the summertime!
I’m a sucker for sheetmasks, so this is something I’m looking forward to try, the yoghurt mask pack from Skin’s Boni. I’ve read good things about it on Instagram and they’re almost always never correct. You feel me?
Next we have the all in one modelling mask from Lindsay, now here they had a bunch of different ones, and you get one at random, lucky for me I got the shiny gold one that’s supposed to energize, this is going to be a treat for the skin after those long summer days at work!
Ah, this one. The Foot & Heel peeling mask from Esfolio.
I’ve already used it, and I have to admit that it’s my first time trying a foot mask, it was weird, imagine wanting to walk to the kitchen to grab another cup of coffee with these foot-diapers on. The struggle was real. But I managed. Now I’m just dreading the whole peeling part, which is to occur within the next three days. Oh god why.
Im guessing that the Mishibox people are big on spot treatments, the June box had a spot treatment from Proud Mary, that really didn’t do shit, so why the F are you so proud, Mary? But this one might be more up my alley! This is the Trouble Skin Solution from Chamos Acaci, and seeing as I love the lemon cream from the June box, things are looking good for the spot solution from the same manufacturer. MCC’s Natural Herb Essential Lip Balm
This is one thing I’ve never actually used frequently, something as simple as a lip balm, and when I think about it, it makes perfect sense to care for your lips the same way you care for the rest of your body. I’ve previously used Laneige’s sleeping lip mask but it gives me nada except a greasy smooch on my pillowcase. Lovely.
And lastly.. uggh. I’m sorry, but if you’ve leaped up with this blog you know how little love I have for Laneige, or rather the Laneige products I’ve tried so far, so in this month’s Mishibox there was of course a sleeping pack sample, from no other than Laneige. And again, any takers? It’s up for grabs!

The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil I’m gonna be honest with you guys. I just purchased this Rose Hip Seed oil from The Ordinary, without giving it much thought. Usually I do my job when it comes to researching before buying, but now and again my brain seems to lose it’s ability of doing just that, resulting in the occasional spontaneous purchase! But in my defense, I didn’t buy this product on a complete whim either. Cause Mocka hasn’t stopped raving about it since she got her hands on it, and after I read her review, I was sold. Ka-ching!

The Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Deep Essence Now, this baby has been away from me for soo long now. We’re talking about a year! I purchased this product back in my early K-beauty days, and although I liked it, I wasn’t sure how effective it was. I guess I can’t remember what ultimately made me decide not to re-purchase it, but the other day i realised that I actually miss it. (Weird how that happens.) In other words; I’m giving it a second chance to blow my socks off, which also means that you can expect a review in the near future! Yay!

The Nature Republic Shine Blossom Blusher in the colour “Apricot”. Another newbie that I’m waiting for is this cream blush from Nature Republic, which is a brand I’ve known about for a long time, but haven’t gotten around to trying. I’m always interested in trying products from different brands, both popular, obscure, tried and not tried, so I’m really looking forward to this. And according to my calculations this baby should be just around the corner!

The Tonymoly The Fresh Phytoncide Pore Gel Cream Fresh Phytoncide Pore Gel Cream, you say? Who even are you? OH, THAT’S RIGHT! I ordered you AGES ago. Okay, to be fair, it’s not your fault that you haven’t arrived yet. But some person somewhere along the line during this prosess, messed up. I mean, let’s be honest. We have ships, planes, trains and quite possibly UFOs to make sure that sh*t arrives where it should, when it should. And I can accept human error. Things can happen. I can also accept that it takes a couple of weeks for products from Korea to arrive where I live, but not several months. No, just no. This product was lost on it’s way and it should have been sorted a long time ago. #Rantover But really, they can send me a new one now if they want, but not recieving a product when you needed it, kind of defeats the purpose of the whole thing, right? That’s like recieving your shot after you got ill. And it’s actually quite disoppointing. And sure, I’ve had a few products arrive on me weeks after their estimated date, but nothing like this.

The Tosowoong ACNE Cleansing Foam Now, this one will definetely be a familiar face for you, if you’ve followed this blog for a while. I have mentioned it in several posts and raved about it in this one! The tube I have standing in my shower at the moment, is running really low and has been for a while now. But instead of re-purchasing it right away, I decided to broaden my horizon even further and went ahead and bought a cleanser from Sulwhasoo that I’ve wanted to try for a long time. And that’s where my beloved Tosowoong comes back into the picture. I just couldn’t bare the thought of hating the Sulwhasoo and not have a backup.

The Petitfèe Gold & Snail Hydrogel Eyepatches O.M.G. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’m looking forward to plastering a pair of these babies on my under eyes. I have tried their sister patches (Black Pearl & Gold) once before, and I loooooved them. I’m hoping that these ones are just as good, AT LEAST. And I’m praying that they arrive tomorrow! #Lastchancebeforetheweekend

The J.One Hana Cream Don’t even get me started on these precious little baby balls!? I just realised two things after having said that. 1) “Baby balls”? Well, that sounds a bit gross. 2) I can’t know if these (baby)balls are precious before I’ve tried them. But they look damn precious, okay?! And I want them. Now. On my face. But on the serious note: Have you ever seen a more fun way to apply moisturizer? I just saw these a few weeks ago and I had to buy them. I mean, who doesn’t want balls all over their face? I know I’m preaching about a product I haven’t tried yet, but I don’t care. I still think everyone should try slapping some balls on their face, at least once! That sh*t better arrive tomorrow.

It’s time for me to share my first thoughts on the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream! This is a product that I bought on a complete whim after my dear Mocka brought it to my attention. (She’s a lot better than me when it comes to finding the more obscure skin care products out there). Usually I do quite a fair bit of research before purchasing a product, but now and again that just doesn’t happen and a product manages to sneak it’s way into my basket. And this mofo did just that. *Cough* ANYWAY.

The basics ↓ Product type: Cream Purpose: Hydrating, whitening, nourishing, smoothing, anti-wrinkle care and moisturizing. Step in skin care routine: Last step, unless you apply a sunscreen (day) or sleeping mask (night). Price (Ebay): 17.17 USD More details ↓ Colour: White Scent: Flowery scent. Consistency: Quite thin for a cream. Spreads out nicely. Appearance on the skin: After application you’re left with a satin finish. Feeling on the skin: Feels nice, silky and refreshing on the skin. Oh, and very luxurious! Container: Medium size, quite heavy and probably too fragile for travelling as it appears to be made of frozen glass instead of the more typical solid plastic. Comes decorated with some kind of cloth, cute. Packaging: White box with black decor.
Having only tried the Dynasty Cream from Beauty of Joseon once, my first impression consists of mixed feelings and thoughts. I have many a time purchased a holy grail product, put it to the test and just not understood the hype. Equally as many times have I tried more obscure products and ended up really liking them. Funny how that happens. This is something both me and Mocka have experienced. My point is that I had really high hopes and expectations when it came to this product, and although it’s not bad, I don’t feel like my expectations were met, cause it’s not amazing either. And I’ll tell you why.
First of all, the container was damaged when I took it out of the box and quite a lot of product had leaked out. Now, I could just pin it on bad luck (which it most definetely was aswell) and say “This could’ve happened with any other product” (which probably is very possible) but the fact is that it didn’t happen to any other product, at least not in my personal experience. It happened to this one.
I’ve ordered loads and loads of skin care products from Korea for over a year now, and yeah, sure, I’ve recieved two or three tubs of moisturizer with broken seals, but none of them leaked and were missing product. And all those tubs had one thing in common: they were made out of solid plastic, as opposed to glass or frozen glass (like this mofo). I know, this can’t possibly happen to all of the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream tubs. Obviously had I lived in Korea and therefore been able to purchase this product without it having to get on a plane (or three), this probably wouldn’t have happened. But it did, and I’m not happy about it. It doesn’t matter if it’s the manufacturer’s fault or the seller’s fault for not packing it properly. I’m still going to stick to plastic tubs from now on, because of the risky plane journey each of my products must take. This isn’t meant as a rant, just something you might want to consider before buying fragile products 🙂
Moving on to the product itself, I’m not crazy about the scent. I mean, it’s not bad, it’s just not amazeballs. And if you’ve followed this blog for a while, you may know that a product’s scent is very important to me and there really isn’t a lot inbetween “Disgusting”, “Neutral” and “Amazefest” on Vicky’s Scent Scale. However, when it comes to the consistency it’s actually really nice. It feels very luxurious on the skin and spreads out like a silky dream! Unfortunatly I don’t think the Dynasty Cream from Beauty of Joseon brought it’s A Game when it comes to it’s most imporant task (in my opinion) which is moisturizing. Of course, one can never be too sure from just one application, but I’m going to be honest; I have my doubts.
Also, it’s probably worth mentioning that I failed to find the correct listing on CosDna for this product prior to purchasing it (God knows how I messed that up), but I found it now! And let’s just say… it’s not looking good. I’m crossing my fingers, hoping and praying that my face won’t look like a rat who barely survived eating rat poison, in a couple of weeks time. Not that it’s the worst CosDna listing I’ve ever seen (cause it’s definetely not) but my skin is sen-si-tive, and usually it’ll freak out if you so much as breathe on it. So yeah.
And remember; I always recommend taking a closer look at any new product before purchasing it, just in case you’re allergic or sensitve to one or more of the ingredients. Personally I always check before buying a new product, because I know my skin is of the extra vulnerable type as I do have dehydrated combination skin with acne prone areas. As you might know; I’ve been searching for the perfect moisturizing cream for ages now. I’ve been trying cheap ones, expensive ones and everything in between without any luck. So recently (probably a couple months ago) I thought it was time for me to purchase more hydrating products aswell. After all, what’s the point in applying a good moisturizer if there isn’t any hydration in the skin to begin with? ANYWAY, that is why I ended up buying the Juju Lava Seawater Boosting Ampoule from Innisfree, along with the Supple Preparation Facial Toner from Klairs. I’m not quite there yet, but I’m going to have to start somewhere, right?

The Gentle Cleansing Foam EX from Sulwhasoo Now, I’ve been meaning to try this for quite some time now, but I just haven’t gotten around to it. I’ve been very happy with the last cleanser I bought, which is the ACNE Cleansing Foam from Tosowoong, but as that one is running pretty low I decided to try the Sulwhasoo because I’ve been wanting to for many months. Fingers crossed!

April Skin No Smudge Eye Doll Brush Pen Liner I’m in need of a new liquid eye liner pen, and I’ve heard amazing things about this one. So the choice was easy peasy lemon squeezy!
Holika Holika Heartful Chiffon Cream Lipstick in the colour Dark Cherry Choux I already own one of these (the Almond Choux) and I love it! A review on the product will be out in the near future.
Etude House Double Lasting Foundation in the colour Fair I’m so sick of the matte foundation I’m currently using so I want to try another. I’ve heard that this baby right here is very good. Ka-ching!
Nature Republic Shine Blossom Blusher in the colour Apricot Again, I’ve only heard great things about this product. Let’s hope they’re true. I only have a cream stick blusher at the moment, and although I like it, I’d like to try another colour aswell as another type.
Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer The same applies to this product; heard good things about it and although I have an eye primer, I’d like to try a different one. Oh, and the price? Cheeeeaap!

It’s time for me to give you my thoughts on the Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream from Etude House! This is a product that I bought on a whim, after just reading a tiny bit about it on the internet. If you’ve followed this blog for a while you may know that I’m searching for the perfect cream. And when I say “cream” I mean a cream type cream, not a gel type cream.
Now, the Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream is indeed a gel type cream. Although I’ve already got enough gel creams, I decided to give this one a go, as I heard rumours about it being good for distressed and sensitive skin, which I have. In other words, I’m still on the lookout for the perfect cream! GAH! Anyways, I told you guys in my first impression on the product that I would return with a review, and here we are. Enjoy!

Price (Ebay): 15.31 USD More details ↓ Colour: Semi clear white. Scent: Smells like MANY other creams out there, which don’t have a particular scent, if you know what I mean? For example the Moisture Surge Cream from Clinique. Consistency: Gel cream. Lightweight and a bit runny. Spreads out VERY easily. Appearance on the skin: After application you’re left with a shiny finish. Feeling on the skin: Feels allright on the skin, a bit sticky. Container: Baby pink themed plastic tub. Cute but looks a bit cheap. Packaging: Same as the container.

So what do I think of the Etude House Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream? After having put this cream to the test for a little while, my conclusion is that it’s nothing special. At least not in my opinion. It’s lightweight and feels nice on the skin. I love the consistency of it and the cool feeling it provides, but it’s just not moisturizing enough for me. I haven’t tried it as a night cream, cause I already know it’s too thin for even a day cream. But I have however used it as a day cream to wear under make up. And it is good for that exact purpose. Also it hasn’t caused any breakouts.
So, if this gel ream was less jelly and more cream, and therefore probably more moisturizing, it would suit me a bit more. And if it had a delicious scent aswell, it would suit me a lot more. But it isn’t and it hasn’t. So yeah… People with less dehydrated skin would probably quite like this, but for me it’s nothing special. Having said that, this cream has a relativly short and nice list on CosDna, which is a bonus as I have sensitive acne prone skin. And what’s more? It contains 17% water from the Baobab Tree. I love natural ingredients.

What are the cons again? I can’t really come up with that many cons when it comes to the Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream. But as I’ve already mentioned; I just don’t find it moisturizing enough for my skin. And it lacks an amazing scent. I’m not sure if most people would count “scentless” or “neutral scent” as a con, but I for sure do! I know that many people find scents overbaring or at least a bit disturbing and I totally understand that. But for me, I love myself a nice scent when it comes to my skin care products. Not overbaring, just nice. But please note that this is coming from a BIG scent appreciater. So if you don’t like scented products and you’re after a lightweight moisturizer, this might indeed be the cream for you 🙂

So what do I think of the Skinfood Tea Tree Clearing Emulsion? This is my first emulsion and I must say that I’m pleasantly suprised. It comes in a convenient container with a hygienic dispenser. And who doesn’t like that? Also, I love the consistency of the product. It looks quite a bit thicker than it really is when you first dispense it onto your finger, but then you get to see how lightweight and runny it actually is! It glides on like a dream and instantly provides your skin with a cool, refreshing and soothing feeling. When it comes to the Tea Tree Clearing Emulsion’s main job which is skin clearing, I’ll have to wait a while longer to see if it actually works. The reason being that such effects usually are more long term rather than instant. However, I know for sure that this emulsion doesn’t break me out, which I’m always grateful for as it doesn’t take a lot for my skin to act up, at all. In other words; I quite like this product but I’m not sure if I’ll repurchase it. Only time will tell!
So what are the cons? The cons aren’t many, but I can think of one thing that doesn’t sit too well with me, and that is the scent. In my first impression on this emulsion I stated that I found the scent pleasant and natural, but now that I’ve come to know the product a bit better I have to say that I’ve sort of changed my mind. It does smell of tea tree, but there’s also an interfering scent of petrol? I’m honestly not sure if I would call it “petrol” or something else, but “petrol” was – and still is the first thing that pops into my mind whenever I apply the emulsion. This is kind of unsettling for me, and that comes from a person who normally LOVES the smell of petrol (weird, I know). But petrol is just one of the last things you want your skin care products to smell like, right? Especially when the tea tree scent fades after a while and the unidentified smell that we’re STILL calling “petrol” lingers for quite some time!

And remember; I always recommend taking a closer look at any new product before purchasing it, just in case you’re allergic or sensitve to one or more of the ingredients. Personally I always check before buying a new product, because I know my skin is of the extra vulnerable type as I do have dehydrated combination skin with acne prone areas. So basically, this one I bought because I, with my combo acne-prone dehydrated skin have dry spots. Don’t we all sometimes? And I’ve been looking for a spot treatment, or stick, that could hydrate those idiotic little patches on my face, desperately craving attention in the form of moisture.
After a little googling, a little reading, and a lot of scrolling on Instagram I landed on this one. With Vicky giving high praise to the honey cream from the same line I figured I might as well get on the honey hype train!
Honey, I’m home! I still can’t get over how pretty it is!
Packaging: This came in this luxurious cube shaped box, in lovely pink/orange colouring. I have to give props to the designer on this one, shaping it like a bee cube, clever.
The stick it self is like a big ass honey smelling lipstick, but for your face!
And so shinyyy. So imagine the struggle photographing this bad bee without getting too much reflection.. Beauty blogger problems. Texture&Smell: This smells like honey heaven, it’s just delish fish! Or pretty propolis, heavenly honey, beautiful beeness, you can choose. It smells amazing, not synthetic or fake, just pure old honey straight from the hive.
The scent fades a bit when the product is absorbed, but you can still sniff it pretty well. Which for me is a bit annoying considering that the area between my mouth and nose seems to be the driest on my face. So when I apply it I end up having this lingering honey smell going on, and this can be a bit overbaring after a while. Who would’ve known there was such a thing as too much honey?
After the product has absorbed it isn’t sticky, which was one of my fears to begin with. Considering how pure and natural the scent is, one could believe that the texture would be true to nature as well, but that’s only when you first apply it. My skin seems to like it so much that I could probably apply it in four rounds or so and it still won’t leave a sticky residue, so yay!
I haven’t used it enough yet to really make up my mind. So far I like it. It does the job of hydrating my dry spots, and I will probably be using it often considering that it hasn’t broken me out yet, which means that it probably won’t. But one can never be too sure when it comes to my skin and honey products. Wings crossed that we’ll get along just fine!
For now I’ll just bee a honey dearest and leave you guys with this, and come buzzing back with a full review when this has been thoroughly tested, sniffed, and harvested.
